Sophora flavescens is a kind of wild plant suitable for both medicine and food. it is an annual herb, commonly known as bitter herb, alias cilantro, non-coriander and so on. Because of its treatment of anemia, summer health care, heat-clearing and detoxification, sterilization and anti-inflammatory effect, it is deeply loved by everyone in the market, so how to grow bitter sesame? Let's take a look.

1. Soil preparation and fertilization

Sophora flavescens has low requirements for soil, so it is easy to choose an area with ventilation and convenient drainage and irrigation. because of its few seeds and weak top soil capacity, the soil should be loosened before planting. When ploughing the soil, 2000-3000 kg of farm manure and 25 kg of compound fertilizer were applied per mu as base fertilizer and raked fine and leveled after fertilization.

2. Sowing and raising seedlings

Sophora flavescens can be sowed in spring or autumn, and in the north it is generally sown in early April. Direct seeding or seedling transplanting can be selected for sowing, and direct seeding is generally used in production. Hole sowing, strip sowing or on-demand sowing can be used in direct seeding. Because of the poor soil force at the top of the seed, the sowing depth should not be too deep. 3-4cm is suitable, and the amount of seed used per mu is between 0.5kg and 1kg. In order to raise seedlings and transplant, the first step is to make a good seedling bed, the sowing rate is 0.1-0.2kg per mu, when the seedlings grow to 4-5 true leaves, they can be transplanted, and the row spacing should be controlled at 25-30cm and the plant spacing should be 10-15cm.

3. Field management

In order to improve the survival rate after transplanting, it is necessary to irrigate fixed root water and living plant water in time, then cover it with sunshade net for a week, and remove it in time after living trees. In winter, if the cold wave invades, it needs to be cultivated in the greenhouse, but it should be noted that the temperature of the greenhouse should not exceed 30 degrees. Once the temperature is too high, it should be ventilated and cooled in time, and the temperature should be kept between 15 and 20 degrees at night. At the same time, we should also pay attention to the humidity, the air humidity should not be too high, it is strictly forbidden to irrigate, when growing, just keep the field moist.

4. Diseases and insect pests

Sophora frutescens plant contains a kind of white milk, which is a kind of bitter, so its diseases and insect pests are very few, and there are only some pests between summer and autumn. At this time, you only need to spray general insecticides to prevent and control, but it is not recommended to spray pesticides to create pollution-free green food.
