Control methods of Gladiolus Diseases
Corm rot
Symptoms: corm rot mainly harms the lower tissue of the plant, dark brown spots appear on the susceptible corms, and the leaves will yellowing and withering after infection.
Prevention and control methods: select a good seed ball before planting, disinfect it with 1000 times commercial manganic acid solution and then plant it, and disinfect the soil with quicklime or formaldehyde. If you find the diseased plant, it should be eradicated in time to avoid infecting the healthy plant.
Scab disease
Symptoms: scab mainly harms the bulb, when the disease occurs, the bulb appears yellowish watery spot, the later stage is dark brown, if serious, it will make the corm, stem base rot.
Prevention and control methods: select places with good ventilation and good drainage, get rid of diseased plants in time and keep the environment clean.
Control methods of common diseases of Gladiolus
The common diseases of Gladiolus include corm rot, leaf blight and so on.
1. Corm rot: the disease is a disease that often occurs during storage. After contracting this disease, the bulb surface will appear yellowish brown slightly sunken disease spot, surrounded by black ulcer, when the air humidity is high, the disease spot expands rapidly, the surface appears turquoise mildew layer, leading to bulb atrophy dry hard.
Precautions are: be careful when digging bulbs to avoid bulb trauma. After harvesting the bulbs, it is best to soak them in cold water first, then disinfect them with alcohol and store them dry in the shade, and make the storeroom ventilated and dry, keeping a low temperature of 4-5 degrees.
2. Leaf blight: the disease mostly starts from the tip of the lower leaves of Gladiolus, the initial is faded green macula, the later spot is dry and appears black-brown mildew layer, and the disease is more serious from July to September.
The preventive measure is to peel off the dry scales of the bulb before planting. The bulbs were soaked in 0.5% permanganic acid for 15 minutes and disinfected. Or in the early stage of plant disease, spray with 800 murine salt solution or 1% equivalent Bordeaux solution or 50% Dyson zinc 1000 times solution, once every 8-10 days.
Integrated Control of Gladiolus Diseases
It is a perennial herb of the genus Gladiolus of Iridaceae and is one of the world-famous cut flowers. The common diseases are leaf spot [Curvularia, Cladosporium], leaf blight (Pseudomonas aeruginosa), Botrytis cinerea (grape spores), Fusarium wilt (Fusarium) and virus diseases (BYMV, CMV).
Comprehensive prevention and treatment suggestions: 1) Disinfection: ① seed ball disinfection: formula-bright shield 500x + green protection 4000 times + streptomycin 3000 times + engine 2000 times, soak for 15 minutes for 30 minutes, dry ② medium disinfection: formula 1 Merle-pentachloronitrobenzene 350 g + more. Fu 400g, with 1 cubic soil, stir evenly (i.e.) Formula 2murf-Mielon 1kg with 1 cubic soil, cover for 20 days, air for 7 days (to be used) 2) regular protection: bright Shield 1000 times, Dakoning 1000 times, Dasengfu 500times or Jinlei 750times 3) combination of water and fertilizer: high potassium: potassium nitrate 1500 times high calcium magnesium: calcium magnesium nitrate 1000 times high phosphorus: potassium dihydrogen phosphate 2000 times
