Located in Sanchung, the people-oriented youth base has after-school tutoring, community activities, and careful adult companionship.For thirteen years since its establishment, it has been a "base" for youth in the nearby community. In order to raise funds for the operation of the base, the charity sale of rice dumplings began last Wednesday. The target of this wave of charity sale is 500,000 yuan, but so far the sales have only reached 30%. Jiang Siyu, director of the youth base, said: "The charity sale situation this year is much lower than in previous years. I hope that people will come to buy rice dumplings, so that the base can have operating funds and continue to accompany the growth and transformation of young people."

Triple teen after school "base"

More than ten years ago, a couple surnamed Lin in Sanchung were concerned about the lack of space for local youth after school, and supported the philosophy of the Humanistic Education Foundation. Therefore, they generously donated a four-story house with a ceiling to serve as an activity center for young people in Sanchung.

The hardware was originally in place, and then manpower was stationed. Under the name of "base", it opened and operated in 2001. For more than a decade, 30 to 40 teenagers have come to the base every day after school to eat dinner, write homework and learn talents. All these are completely free of charge, and all the operating expenses are raised by Ben.

"Our curriculum is not about letting children learn something powerful, but seeing that children finally dare to say to us one day: 'I won't ye', so we found the most solid starting point to learn and live with our children." Chiang Si-yu, director of the Sanchung Youth Base, says that besides lessons, children can have dinner, chat, play chess, play cards, learn guitar, play table tennis, dance, and learn to write. In addition, lectures on various topics are held to broaden their horizons.
