Taijiang River was slowly piled up from the inland sea in the past, through the Zengwen River and the Yanshui River, and it took 400 years to form today's Annan District. Only when we walk to Taijiang will we know what is meant by "vicissitudes of the sea". This is a record of the efforts of the Tainan Society Dataijiang Branch to regard the Taijiang River Basin as a school and cultivate the Taijiang culture.

The community college movement in Taiwan has gone through 16 years, from facing the city to the countryside, taking root in the countryside, and opening up more deep-ploughing cultural movements with local characteristics. in order to grasp the local life characteristics developed by the ancestors to adapt to the environment to continue, community college activists began to preserve local knowledge and record the characteristics of local humanistic life.

In the Annan District of Tainan City, this is what Zheng Chenggong called "dignitaries" when he led the army to Taiwan. Here, the Ming Zheng Dynasty defeated the Dutch and ruled the whole Taiwan, making Taiwan an important historical area on the Chinese historical stage for the first time. In the past, it was also the inland sea of the Taijiang River, where there is the origin of Taiwan's 400-year history.

If history is the memory of a nation, then the history of the Taiwanese should start with Taijiang. This period of history inevitably faces the great navigation era of the Ming Zheng period, and Taijiang must be the stage center of this historical drama.

In Taijiang, you can read the history of nature and humanities, and the history of Taiwan is also the history of rivers and seas. Standing on the dike, you can still see that the living history of nearly a hundred years is still moving slowly forward. That is Batian and the Jiannan Grand Channel, which is still connected to the sea in Taijiang, flows to the Blackwater ditch, and rushes back to the hometown of Batian.

When I asked the way how to get to Taijiang by bus, I knew that Taijiang was called "Haiwei", which might mean the end of the sea, the edge of the city. Today's Taijiang may give many people the impression that it is the fishing village area on the edge of the central urban area of Tainan. But for the teachers and students of the Taijiang campus, Taijiang is the starting point of all the stories. The aquaculture fishery and riparian beaches represented by Tai Tsai are the memories of every Taijiang people and the source of their identity.
