Nantou Puli is one of the main producing areas of white bamboo shoots in Taiwan, and it is also the main habitat of Taiwan white fish listed as "endangered wild animals." More than a dozen bamboo shoot farmers in Puli have turned to organic bamboo shoots in the past two years. At the end of last year, they even applied for green conservation badge certification to protect the land with green bamboo shoots and Taiwan white fish.
However, after several heavy rains in recent days, about five organic and green bamboo shoots have grown rapidly, with a daily output of about 1500 kilograms, which will last until the end of June and early July. In the case of a big outbreak of production, the existing organic pathway cannot be digested for a while, and if it is sold to the general channel, it will be a big loss to the farmers who protect the organic and green fields.
