Taroko National Park commissioned the Cixin Foundation to promote the conversion of Xibao settlement into organic agriculture five years ago, setting the first example in Taiwan. Seven of the eight households have already joined. It is hoped that in the future, it can be developed into an ecological village and fully converted into organic, but local residents react. Part of the land is designated as a special landscape area, and agricultural material rooms and net rooms cannot be built, which may affect the planning of ecological villages. However, the change proposed this year has been voted back by the National Parks Planning Board, and there is still a long way to go for the reconciliation and symbiosis of national parks and residents.
For the first time in Taiwan, organic is promoted in national parks.
