Driven by the pastoral city policy, community gardens in Taipei have sprung up everywhere in recent years. The Taipei Industrial Development Bureau has further actively integrated the series community gardens with urban and rural areas, hoping to create the possibility of cooperation and resource sharing through the benign exchange of technology and experience between the two. The Taipei Municipal Bureau of Industry held a "Urban and Rural Tour" yesterday (18), leading community garden workers to visit the Hudi community in Beitou, hoping to help community garden workers learn the successful integration experience of rural settlements.

The crops cultivated in the Hudi community in Beitou are mainly vegetables. In the past, the spraying of pesticides had an impact on the local ecology and the lives of the residents, and the smell of agricultural medicine in the air even floated into the campus. In order to transform the farming methods of the lakeside community, the mothers of the local community have worked hard to communicate and coordinate with the farmers many times, hoping to establish an environment-friendly farming method. After a year of efforts, the lakeside community is now an organic farming environment without pesticide spraying.

On that day, the "Tian Li Learning friendly Environment Association" took everyone into the fields to enjoy the pastoral life, listen to the touching stories of the community, and share how the local residents changed from antagonism to friends fighting side by side when the pesticide issue began to burn. Chen Jiaqi, the biggest driving force behind the Tian Li Learning-friendly Environment Association, said: "when the pesticide incident broke out, I actively called on farmers not to use pesticides, but farmers inevitably rejected them at first, thinking that if they did not use pesticides, they would lose their way of life. Even there will be voices of doubt. At that time, I also felt very sad. later, we chose to change ourselves first and do it bit by bit. finally, these people saw our persistence and slowly the murmur disappeared. " The story of Tian Li Xue has deeply inspired the community garden workers, and it is expected that these experiences will become an important help in promoting the city's community garden.
