Chicks are the most vulnerable stage in the whole growth period of chickens, especially now the management of chicks becomes more and more important after winter. Many farmers have different problems when managing their chicks, one of the most common of which is diarrhea. Diarrhea without timely treatment can easily lead to the death of chicks. So what is the cause of diarrhea in chicks? How to treat it? Let's take a look at it with the editor.

1. Binge drinking

In order to increase the number of chickens in stock, some farmers will not only keep their own seeds, but also buy them outside. After seed purchase, drinking water was not provided during transportation, resulting in lack of water and dehydration of chicks. After entering the chicken coop will drink a lot of water, resulting in the body can not bear, resulting in diarrhea, making dehydration more serious. Therefore, in order to ensure the normal growth and development of chicks, drinking water should be provided in time. When the chick breaks its shell for about 2-4 hours, the chick can drink for the first time, not more than a day and a half at the latest. The first drinking water should pay attention to the temperature, can not feed cold water, to prevent the emergence of stiff chickens. After the first drink, an appropriate amount of brown sugar and other substances can be added to the drinking water to supplement the moisture of the chicks and promote the growth.

2. Gastrointestinal infection

The immune system of chicks is very imperfect, if poorly managed, chicks are easily infected with salmonella and other gastrointestinal bacteria. Gastrointestinal infection usually occurs in chickens whose shells are broken for about 3 days and will die about a week after infection. The main symptoms are diarrhea, mental disorder and so on. Therefore, we should do a good job in epidemic prevention after the chick is born, and we can add an appropriate amount of edible vinegar to drinking water to strengthen the immunity of the intestines and stomach. Sick chickens can be mixed with a small amount of garlic in their feed and vinegar fish and gentamicin in drinking water. Then properly fed with yeast water to restore the intestinal flora of chicks and improve digestive ability.

3. Too much protein

In order to promote the growth of chicks, many farmers will increase the proportion of protein in the feed, but the digestive ability of chicks is very weak. If the protein content is too high, it is very likely to lead to chicken indigestion, the emergence of dilute anus and other phenomena. Observing the eating and feces of chicks, it is found that the loss of appetite or the pull of rare undigested feed represents indigestion. Therefore, we should pay attention to the cold protein three days before the chicken shell is broken, and we should feed cooked corn kernels and yeast water to improve the digestive ability of chicks and prevent indigestion.

4. Improper feed

Feed is one of the main reasons for chicken diarrhea, some chicken farmers in order to save convenience, will buy back all the chicken feed. But do not pay attention to the storage of feed, high temperature and humidity, some feed is very easy to mildew deterioration, chicks after accidental eating anal swelling, diarrhea and other phenomena. Therefore, when we feed, we must pay attention to the quality of the feed, do not feed moldy feed, feed the right amount of glucose water, add the right amount of vitamins, do a good job of detoxification and liver protection.

Chicken diarrhea is a very common problem in the process of raising chickens, and it can also be said to be a disease. And the problem caused by diarrhea is very serious, so we must do a good job in prevention. After the onset of the disease, check the specific causes and then use the corresponding prevention and treatment methods to strengthen the management of chicken sheds and reduce diarrhea.
