Nelumbo nucifera is an annual twining herb of the sunflower family, its origin is in various tropical regions of Asia, it is cultivated in all parts of China, and it still has a certain wild area in the south. Sunflower has a high nutritional value, can prevent constipation, heat cooling and so on. Sunflower is also one of the main edible vegetables in the south. So how to cultivate sunflower? The following editor has brought the cultivation techniques of sunflower, let's have a look!

1. Land selection and preparation

The growth ability of sunflower is relatively strong, and the demand for soil is not high, but when we plant, we still have to choose a soil with more fertile, sufficient water and strong permeability. This kind of soil is more conducive to the growth of sunflower and increase the yield. After selecting the land, do a good job of land preparation, ploughing deep to make beds. First of all, the purpose of soil preparation is to improve the permeability of soil, enhance the absorption of bottom fertilizer and improve fertility. Secondly, in order to prevent the residual harmful substances in the soil, such as bacteria, herbicides, etc., cause certain harm to the growth of sunflower.

2. Soaking seeds to accelerate germination

The seed selection of sunflower has no effect on the regulation, only the varieties with high yield, disease-free and harmless and strong growth should be selected. However, the seed coat of sunflower is relatively hard, and the germination rate is lower if it germinates independently. Therefore, we also have to do a good job of soaking seeds and accelerating germination before sowing seeds, soaking the seeds in warm water of about 55 degrees for half an hour. Then remove it and soak it in warm water of 30 degrees for about 5 hours. After soaking, wash the seeds and put them at a temperature of about 28 degrees to accelerate germination. When most of them are white, they can be sown.

3. Sowing seeds at the right time

Sunflower sowing has certain requirements for temperature. When the temperature is about 20 degrees, the germination rate of seeds is relatively high, so it can be sown in the open field. There are two sowing methods of sunflower: strip sowing and sowing, usually by sowing. To spread, it is necessary to pour enough fixed root water, then wait for the water to seep gradually and then sow it into the planting hole, cover fine soil and plastic film after sowing, and seedlings can emerge in about 4 days under normal management. After emergence, it is necessary to do a good job in field management, improve the survival rate of seedlings, promote seedling growth, and prevent dead seedlings from dying and weak seedlings.

4. Field management

When sunflower successfully emerges, it is necessary to do a good job of checking seedlings and loosening soil during ploughing, and strengthen water management. When the soil is relatively dry, it should be watered in time, and when the seedlings slow down, they should be fertilized immediately. Topdressing and watering are carried out together to dilute fertilizer, promote nutrient absorption and ensure that the soil is moist. Observe the growth and the number of weeds, remove weeds to prevent affecting the growth of sunflower. And also control the temperature, the temperature should not be lower than 20 degrees during the day, and it can be reduced to about 15 degrees at night. After growing up, draw the vine to pick the heart, promote the growth of stems and leaves, and increase the yield.

The above is a brief introduction of sunflower cultivation techniques, sunflower has a high economic value, not only edible, but also a kind of medicinal materials. Can smooth bowel defecation, treatment of rash and so on, but planting sunflower needs certain technical and management experience to ensure yield. Therefore, we must think carefully before planting!
