Radix Pseudostellariae, also known as child ginseng and child ginseng, is a commonly used Chinese herbal medicine unearthed in China, which is beneficial to qi and spleen, invigorates the spleen and moistens the lung, and is deeply loved by doctors. With the strengthening of people's living standards and awareness of health care, the medicinal drinks and diets of Radix Pseudostellariae are more common among the people, resulting in a great increase in its demand, soaring market prices and promoting its cultivation. So how to grow Pseudostellariae? Let's get to know it.

1. Land selection and preparation

Prince ginseng likes to grow in a warm and humid environment, fond of fertilizer, afraid of waterlogging and drought, so it is appropriate to choose high-lying, fertile and loose plots, while waterlogged land and saline-alkali land with poor drainage are not suitable for planting. The first crop of the plot had better be sweet potato, vegetables and other crops. After the previous harvest, the plot was ploughed, and the cultivated land was applied into farm manure as basic fertilizer, combined with cultivated land turned into the soil, and after raking fine leveling, the high border was made.

2. Methods of reproduction

There are many propagation methods of Radix Pseudostellariae, which are commonly used in seed and tuber propagation. It is better for tuber propagation to choose intact roots when harvesting buds. When the tuber is placed obliquely or horizontally on one side of the ditch, the position of the bud head should be the same, and the thickness of the covered soil is more important, too deep ginseng root is large, the quantity is small, the yield is low, the shallow ginseng root is small, the quality is poor, and 5-6cm is suitable. It is not easy to collect seeds, and often use naturally fallen seeds to raise seedlings in situ. After harvesting in situ, rake the land flat, plant a crop of radishes and vegetables after fertilization, and rake flat after harvest, then the seeds will sprout and emerge. Grow to 3-4 leaves can be transplanted.

3. Field management

Weeding should be ploughed in time after emergence, if the planting area and weeds are less, manual removal is recommended, while if the planting area is large and there are many weeds, chemical weeding can be used, but we should pay attention to the concentration of the chemical. Prince ginseng is afraid of waterlogging, once the soil is stagnant, it is very easy to rot, so it must be drained in time after rain and watered in time in case of drought to facilitate plant growth. If the plant grows slowly or weakly, some human feces and urine or ammonium sulfate can be applied appropriately.

4. Diseases and insect pests

The main diseases of Radix Pseudostellariae are root rot, leaf spot and mosaic disease, which are mostly caused by high temperature and humidity environment, so the plots with good drainage and ventilation must be selected when planting, and the disease should be sprayed in time to control the disease. Insect pests are grubs, ground tigers, mole crickets, golden needle insects, they mainly harm the disease, affect the yield, seriously lead to the death of aboveground parts, for them can be irrigated with insecticide with water, or make poisonous soil poison.

The above is the planting technology of Radix Pseudostellariae. I hope it can help you. If you want to know more about the planting of medicinal materials, please follow us.
