Magnolia belongs to Magnoliaceae, it is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine, and some people call it Wangchunhua. Mainly used for the treatment of headache, nasal congestion, rhinitis and other symptoms, but also can dispel wind and cold, clear the lungs and moisten the lungs. At present, it mostly appears in Sichuan, Hubei, Henan, Hebei and other places in China. Its main medicinal value is executed in its buds, so how on earth should Magnolia be planted? Let's take a look at it next.

1. Planting environment

Magnolia likes to grow in a warm, moist and sunny environment. It has a certain ability to resist cold and drought, is not resistant to stagnant water, and is suitable for planting in acidic soil. The planting land is generally low and slow mountain area, sufficient water source, sandy soil, loose and fertile land, good drainage and irrigation. Turn deeply at least 30 centimeters, spread good base fertilizer, make the border, the border surface should be flat, the width of the border is about 1.5 to 2 meters, and the ditches blend, and you can wait for planting.

2. Planting method

There are many planting methods of Magnolia. At present, the four most commonly used methods are seed sowing, grafting, striping and cutting. The strip can be divided into high position and low position. Seed sowing is usually carried out around September every autumn. You need to do seed treatment before sowing, and you can also choose to sow in spring. Grafting is usually carried out around May, so the survival rate of the plant will be greatly improved. Striping begins around February of each year, but cuttings are carried out after summer or autumn rain, so that the survival rate is high.

3. Cultivation and management

In the first year or two before planting Magnolia, in order to make full use of land resources, other crops, such as legumes, herbs and dwarf plants, are usually planted in the fields. This can not only obtain higher economic benefits, but also improve the fertility of the soil. A few years after planting, it is generally necessary to carry out two or more intermediate ploughing and weeding in summer and autumn. At the same time, an appropriate amount of topdressing is needed, mainly ammonium fertilizer in spring and compost in winter.

4. Dwarfing Magnolia

In order to make the buds of Magnolia more exuberant and convenient for us to harvest, we usually take the method of pruning and shaping and dwarfing the trunk. When Magnolia grows to about 1.5 meters, we need topping to promote branch growth, and the main pruning techniques to avoid overlapping growth, so that it can make full use of sunlight. At the same time, it is also necessary to control the growth of the main branches to achieve the purpose of dwarfing.

5. Disease and pest control

The peak of magnolia disease is between April and June every year, and the most important disease is blight. If we love you, we should do a good job of prevention, avoid stagnant water in the field, treat the seeds with chemicals before sowing, enhance the resistance of the plants, and finally use agents to prevent and cure the disease in time. The main pests are mole cricket, golden bollworm, ground tiger and other underground pests, which can be poisoned by trichlorfon.

Magnolia is not common in many places, so many people are puzzled about the planting techniques of Magnolia. I believe that through the reading of the above, we have a certain understanding of the growing environment and planting methods and management of Magnolia.
