After yesterday's expert meeting and scholars suggested that the government adopt a ban on slaughtering to prevent the spread of bird flu, three cases of highly pathogenic H5N6 bird flu have been confirmed in Chiayi and Tainan in the afternoon, causing the Council of Agriculture to make a hasty decision, and decided to ban the transportation of poultry for seven days starting from early tomorrow morning, and the ban on slaughtering for seven consecutive days from 12:00 at noon, except for white broilers, which account for the bulk of the poultry market. Can continue to supply market demand.
After six cases of H5N6 bird flu were confirmed in Hualien Yuli and Ilan, the Council of Agriculture confirmed this afternoon that Tainan Guantian ducklings, Chiayi Puzi black-bone chickens, and Yunlin native chickens were respectively infected with the H5N6 virus, which means that Taiwan has accumulated nine epidemic spots and culled 3747 poultry, and the epidemic has spread to five counties and cities, including Hualien, Ilan, Chiayi, Tainan and Yunlin.
