We are no stranger to honeysuckle, and it is often used in our lives to prevent colds, clear heat and reduce fire. It is planted in all parts of our country, mainly in Hunan, Shandong, Guizhou and other places. The planting method of honeysuckle is also quite simple, so field management is also relatively easy. Let's take a look at how it is managed in the field.

1. Cultivate the soil

After the honeysuckle is planted and survived, it is basically necessary to cultivate the soil and weed three or four times a year. Like honeysuckle planted in the first year, it is necessary to cultivate the soil and weed for the first time when the seedlings grow to about 20 centimeters, and then cultivate the soil appropriately according to the growth of honeysuckle in the later stage. From the second year, the first time to cultivate the soil and weed was when the new leaves grew, the second time was before flowering, the third time was after the first batch of flowers were harvested, and the last time was before Frosts Descent.

2. Topdressing

Topdressing is the most important step in field management, which is directly related to the yield and quality of honeysuckle. Within two years after planting, it is generally necessary to apply more manure, plant ash and fertilizers such as urea and potash. Two years later, it is necessary to apply fertilizer scientifically according to the different growth periods of honeysuckle. Generally speaking, when the branches and leaves grow in spring, they are mainly soil miscellaneous fertilizer and barnyard manure, while the pre-flowering fertilizer is mainly potash fertilizer. After waiting for the first batch of flowers to be harvested, it is necessary to apply reasonable ternary compound fertilizer of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, and after the last batch of flowers are harvested, urea, feces and urine need to be irrigated.

3. Pruning

The pruning of honeysuckle requires a lot of patience. The time of pruning is usually after the leaves fall in autumn, or before the branches and leaves sprout in early spring. We should follow the principle of light pruning of strong branches, strong pruning of weak branches, and pruning of all branches. It is different from other pruning methods of planting five, each branch needs to be cut off more or less, which is conducive to the sprouting of new branches, but also conducive to ventilation and light. For example, the slender ones or the diseased branches and withered branches need to be cut off completely, leaving nothing at all. at the same time, it is important to keep the plant shape and facilitate harvesting and management.

4. Pruning

The pruning of honeysuckle is mainly in its branch and leaf growth period. Because the branch growth of honeysuckle is irregular and the growth direction is inconsistent, it looks more chaotic, which is not convenient to harvest, difficult to take care of, and poor permeability, so it is easy to reduce yield. Therefore, during its growth period, we should adjust the direction of branch growth and maintain plant shape and ventilation and light transmittance.

5. Prevent diseases and insect pests

Honeysuckle is more attractive to insect pests, and the disease is also more serious if it is not managed properly. The most common diseases are brown spot and powdery mildew. For brown spot, you first need to cut off the diseased branches, and then control them with Bordeaux solution or Dyson zinc 500 times dilution, spraying once a week, about two or three times. Powdery mildew needs to be cleared in time, and then sprayed with 1000 times of topiramate. The main pests are aphids, inchworms, longicorn beetles, etc., which can be sprayed and killed by trichlorfon.

Honeysuckle is a common medicinal material, the market demand is also relatively large, when planting, field management is also very critical. As the editor's energy is limited, so much for today's sharing. If you want to know more about honeysuckle, remember to leave a message.
