Pinellia ternata is a perennial herb of Platycodon grandiflorum family. It can be used in medicine. It has the effect of clearing heat and detoxification, diuresis and detumescence, and has high medicinal value. In addition, its flowers are strange and are often cultivated in pots, so how should it be planted? Let's take a look at it.

1. Select the place

Lobelia lanceolata likes a humid environment, cold and drought-resistant, can survive the winter in the field naturally, often wild in the field ridge, grass, stream and other wet places. Therefore, when planting, we should choose such an environment, with loose soil and well-drained sandy soil, clean up the weed residues before planting, and then turn deeply, rake fine, apply base fertilizer, and prepare for planting.

2. Reproduction

Scutellaria barbata can be propagated by seed propagation, cutting propagation and split propagation, which are mainly propagated in separate plants. if the planting scale is large, cutting propagation can also be used. Ramets are propagated from April to May in spring. After the new seedlings grow, they are divided into 4-5 small plants according to the size of the plant, and then ditched and planted according to the row spacing of 10 × 25cm or 6 × 15cm. The choice of cutting propagation is in the period of high temperature in summer, cut off the stems and branches of the strong plants, cut them in the soil, keep the soil moist, control the temperature between 25-30 degrees, take root and survive after about 7-10 days, and transplant again in the coming year.

3. Field management

In the seedling stage, it is necessary to do a good job in loosening soil and weeding measures, timely weeding, so as not to affect the growth of seedlings, loosening soil can benefit the root growth of seedlings, weeding as far as possible manual, less use of herbicides, so as not to cause drug damage to seedlings. Fertilizer is also applied once during weeding to promote seedling growth, ammonium sulfate and urea are also applied after summer harvest, and mature manure or compost is applied in winter. It is necessary to water the soil in time during drought to keep the soil moist. Each fertilization can be properly watered to speed up fertilizer absorption.

4. Diseases and insect pests

The main diseases of Lobelia lanceolata are Rhizoctonia solani, Fusarium oxysporum, Pythium, etc., and insect pests include aphids, thrips, whitefly and so on. In addition to pest control, plants are easy to lodge, and in most cases it is caused by standing blight. Pay attention to soil moisture to avoid long-term wet branches of stems, strengthen ventilation and spray fungicides regularly.
