Why is dripping Guanyin dripping?
Plant leaves have "stomata" and "water pores". In general, the amount of water absorbed by roots is distributed in gaseous form through stomata, but when the external temperature is relatively high and humidity is high (such as in the morning or evening), high temperature makes the absorption of roots exuberant. Humidity greatly inhibits the evaporation of water from the stomata, so that water has to flow out of the body directly through the pores in liquid form, which is called "spitting water phenomenon".
Why is dripping Guanyin dripping?
Usually, when the climate is relatively dry, the water discharged from the water hole quickly evaporates and dissipates, so we do not see water droplets accumulating on the tip or edge of the leaf. Water spitting is also caused by root pressure, plant growth is strong, root activity is strong, water spitting is also more, so the phenomenon of water spitting can be used as an index of root physiological activity.
In fact, many plants have this "spitting phenomenon". Sharp-tailed taro, pink palm, black leaf taro, black swan, green apple, white netting grass, and so on, can drip water, but why is it that only sea taro and pointed-tailed taro are called "dripping Guanyin"? Now I understand that these two kinds of taro will drip + bloom like Guanyin, so they are called "dripping Guanyin".
When does Guanyin drip?
Keep humidity can drip, if the air humidity is too small, the moisture will evaporate immediately, so generally dripping is more in the morning, known as "spitting" phenomenon.
Matters needing attention when dripping Guanyin
However, the white juice in the stem of dripping Guanyin is poisonous, and the dripping water is also poisonous. accidentally touching or eating its juice will cause discomfort in the pharynx and mouth, and seriously suffocate, leading to heart paralysis and death. Be careful not to let the child touch it.
