How to control strawberry root rot by withering the whole strawberry plant
Root rot damage strawberry root, lateral root or new root initiation, at the initial stage, the root appeared light red or brown irregular patches, gradually dark brown. With the development of the disease, the root system became brown and necrotic; the aboveground outer leaves, the leaf margin first yellowed, some leaves became brown, necrotic to curl, the diseased plant showed lack of water, gradually developed to the heart leaf, and finally the whole strawberry plant withered and died.

Strawberry root rot is closely related to soil, the incidence of strawberry in 5 plots is mild or not, and the yield of strawberries in 5 years old shed is serious, especially in more than 10 years. The roots of strawberry plants infected with root rot were shorter than those of normal plants, the color was dark, the underground roots were adventitious, a large number of strawberries died, and the new roots grew sparsely after being damaged. When the root is damaged, the absorption capacity of water and fertilizer decreases, which directly leads to the abnormal transportation of water, inorganic matter and nutrients, resulting in the weakness of the aboveground part or the withering and yellowing of the whole strawberry plant.
Prevention and control methods:
1. Reasonable crop rotation, cleaning up the countryside: timely removal of the disease and remains of the previous crop in the strawberry field, and concentrated burning. During the idle period of the greenhouse, the soil was disinfected and 120 kg of lime nitrogen per mu was used. After mulching and watering, the greenhouse lasted for more than 25 days, which could effectively kill soil bacteria and insect eggs.
2. High ridge plastic film cultivation, scientific watering and fertilization: root rot is directly related to excessive humidity in strawberry greenhouse or excessive watering at one time. In order to reduce the humidity in the greenhouse, the cultivation method of high ridge plastic film mulching, watering under the film and frequent watering of small water were adopted, and drip irrigation was used if there were conditions. Select fully mature organic fertilizer as base fertilizer for strawberries, increase the amount of bio-organic fertilizer, and turn the soil deeply to improve soil permeability and buffering capacity.
3. Chemical control: strawberry root rot is mainly prevented. In the slow seedling stage of strawberry planting and before flowering, 75% Chlorothalonil wettable powder is sprayed 500 to 800 times + Plidenfish protein 300 times. It can also be irrigated with 500 times of Prudenfin and 800 times of carbendazim after planting to prevent early root rot. For strawberries with root rot disease in greenhouse, the diseased plants should be pulled out in time, and the roots should be irrigated with 1500-fold solution of carbendazim and Prudenfin.
