Ducks can be poisoned by accidental ingestion of toxic substances or by excessive and prolonged use of certain drugs. The disease often occurs and the loss is serious. Duck poisoning, before the onset, basically no warning, often sudden onset, and the cause is unknown, and the disease is more serious. Generally speaking, eating is reduced, and most of them have neurological symptoms. Postmortem rigor is incomplete, blood coagulation is not complete.

Duck

1. Aflatoxin:

1. The cause of the disease: poisoning caused by toxin produced by Aspergillus flavus. Peanuts, wheat bran, damaged corn, hay and rice straw are easily caused by aflatoxin when they are improperly preserved in the wet season. When ducks eat feed containing aflatoxin, they will be poisoned.

2, clinical symptoms: damage to the liver, gradual loss of appetite, slow growth, hair removal, lameness, convulsions, antemortem dilatation, mortality rate of 100%.

3. Prevention and control measures: there is no effective drug treatment for aflatoxin poisoning in ducks. as long as the feed containing aflatoxin toxin is stopped, the duck will stop dying soon. Therefore, in the warm and rainy season, the feed should be mildew-proof.

II. Sulfonamides:

1, the cause of the disease: ducks take sulfonamides for too long or too much, resulting in sulfonamides poisoning.

2. Clinical symptoms: symptoms such as excitement, refusal to eat, diarrhea spasm, paralysis and so on. The chronic poisoning cases of sulfonamides are often seen in a large number or continuous use of drugs for more than one week, characterized by depression, loss of appetite, diarrhea and soy sauce-colored feces. Diseased ducks have hemolytic anemia, reduce egg production and produce soft-shell eggs.

3. Prevention and control measures: stop taking sulfonamides and feed 1-5% soda to the ducks.

3. Salt:

1. The cause of the disease: ducks mistakenly eat feed or drinking water with excessive salt content. Especially ducklings, the sensitivity of salt poisoning is high.

2. Clinical symptoms: loss of appetite, increased thirst, outflow of mucus from mouth and nose. Mental malaise, weak feet, difficulty moving, often paralyzed, dyspnea, singing restlessness.

3. Prevention and control measures: stop feeding salty feed to ducks, give sweetened water, and feed more green fodder.
