How to prevent and cure the fetal gas disease of goats before the birth of ewes?

1. Etiology: Goats in pregnancy have exogenous cold, internal injury and cool, improper feeding and few operations, resulting in loss of vitality of pregnant ewes, imbalance of qi and blood, failure to rise of clear qi and failure to fall of turbid qi, resulting in uneasiness of fetus, resulting in its illness.

2. Symptoms: In the early stage of the disease, there is no obvious change in spirit and appetite, abdominal edema including breasts, perineum and limbs, slow movement, sometimes abdominal distension and slight asthma. In mild cases, edema can disappear by itself within a few days after delivery. Sick goats sometimes show listlessness, parched fur, loss of appetite, walking restraint, and even lying down. Under normal circumstances, the goat's pulse does not change much, the mouth color is clean, and the mouth fluid is smooth.

3. Treatment: Pregnant ewes suffering from fetal gas disease are placed in warm and comfortable sheep houses padded with a layer of soft hay and cleaned frequently. Goats are taken out of the sheep house and slowly walked for 3-4 hours every day. Feed rich in protein and vitamins. Do not drink cold water. 12g angelica, 12g rehmannia root, 10g white peony root, 8g ligusticum wallichii, 6g immature bitter orange, 5g tangerine peel and 3g safflower are used as fine powder, which is washed with boiled water and taken by warm irrigation, 1 dose/day, for 5 consecutive doses.
