Gentleman, also known as Lycoris radiata, Lycoris davidiana, etc., is a perennial herb ornamental flower of Amaryllidaceae. It is native to southern South Africa, with dignified and beautiful plant shape, green and straight leaves, large flowers, red fruit, and beautiful leaves and fruits. There are one season, three seasons and four seasons, and the ornamental value is very high. Let's take a look at when the magnolia blossoms.

When will the orchid blossom?

The flowering period of Cymbidium is from February to April. After flowering, the flowering period can be prolonged by proper cooling, ventilation and reducing light. The growth cycle of gentleman orchids is long, and it usually takes four or five years to grow to 20 to 25 leaves before they can blossom. Those who are well cultivated can shoot arrows and blossom in two or three years, and some even shoot arrows and bloom in less than two years. At the same time, most magnanimous orchids can only shoot one arrow a year and blossom once a year, and some can shoot two or three arrows a year. However, some gentleman orchids do not shoot arrows and blossom for six or seven years, while others do not blossom once.

Why don't magnolia blossom?

1. Nutritional discomfort: after entering the reproductive stage, Magnolia should supply some nutrients to the reproductive organs for flower bud differentiation, at this time, if more nitrogen fertilizer is used and there is a lack of phosphate fertilizer, it will cause the plant to grow so that the flower bud differentiation can not be carried out normally, thus affecting the normal flowering.

2. Water imbalance: the life activity of Cymbidium needs water, and the nutrients in the soil can only be absorbed by root hairs after being dissolved by water, so it should be watered reasonably to make the plant grow well. After entering the reproductive growth period, carry out normal flower bud differentiation and blossom in time.

3. Light discomfort: Cymbidium belongs to middle sunshine flowers, which can only grow but not differentiate flower buds under long sunshine conditions, so it can not blossom for a long time. In order to make orchids bloom, they must be moved to the room without lights at night. It doesn't matter when the scape is pulled out.

4. Temperature discomfort: Cymbidium stops growing when the temperature is lower than 10 ℃ or higher than 30 ℃. Too high or too low room temperature will lead to poor plant growth, and then affect the blooming of pregnant buds, so it is appropriate to cultivate Cymbidium at 11-17 ℃.

What should I do with the arrow in the gentleman's orchid?

1. Adjust the temperature: the suitable temperature for the growth of Cymbidium is 1525 ℃. When it is lower than 15 ℃, it will grow badly, especially if it is less than 15 ℃ before coming out, the scape will be difficult to extract, so it is necessary to adjust the temperature in time to facilitate scape extraction.

2. Adjust the temperature difference: the growth habit of Cymbidium is fond of large temperature difference between day and night, but it is difficult to extract scape if the temperature difference is small. After flower bud differentiation and before scurrying, the temperature should be controlled at about 10 ℃, so it is easier to shoot arrows, otherwise the phenomenon of arrow entrapment will occur.

3. Rational fertilization: after 3 years of cultivation, it is necessary to increase the times of fertilization in autumn. It is best to apply liquid fertilizer with high phosphorus content, and alternately apply nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. If necessary, 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate foliar fertilizer can be applied to promote flower bud formation and early flowering.

4. Watering at the right time: the lack of water will also hinder the scape growth and lead to arrow entrapment, so it is necessary to increase the amount of water to keep the basin soil moist, otherwise the bulbs and leaves will hinder the physiological activities of the plant due to lack of water. so that the arrow clip affects flowering.

5. Cut the arrow scape: when the gentleman orchid turns to reproductive growth, you should always pay attention to the changes of the bulb. If the arrow is caught due to excessive pressure on the bulb, the leaf sheath holding the arrow scape can be cut open 1.5 cm with a sharp knife to reduce the pressure on the scape at the base of the leaf sheath and promote the scape.
