Environmental factors such as high temperature and rain, high temperature and high humidity in summer are easy to cause diarrhea diseases in rabbits. In general, there are three main reasons for rabbit diarrhea in summer, one is feeding moldy and deteriorating feed, the second is drinking water pollution, and the third is coccidia infection. However, the frequent and frequent diarrhea in rabbits in summer is mainly caused by coccidia infection.

Rabbit

The diarrhea caused by coccidia is mainly in April-September, and the high incidence period is from July to August, and most of them infect 2-3-month-old rabbits.

The clinical manifestations of hepatic coccidiosis and intestinal coccidiosis are similar. in the early stage of the disease, rabbits have loss of appetite, mental depression, slow movement, increased eye and nasal secretions, saliva, moist hair around the mouth, sometimes diarrhea and sometimes constipation. In the later stage of the disease, intestinal distension, abdominal distension, diarrhea, brown feces, strong fishy smell, serious pollution around the anus, emaciation, weakness, conjunctiva pallor, neurological symptoms in the later stage, head backward, limb convulsions, screams, and finally died of failure. The rabbits with hepatic coccidiosis palpated the liver area with pain reaction.

Adding anti-coccidial drugs to rabbit feed can prevent rabbit diarrhea caused by coccidiosis in summer, such as chlorophenylguanidine, diclazuril, coccidiolide, coccidia, gram ball, etc., which can be used for about 10 days. In addition, because coccidia are easy to develop drug resistance, the anti-coccidial drugs in the same rabbit farm are used alternately, once every 2 to 3 months, and 2 to 3 different components of anti-coccidial drugs are used alternately.

After the occurrence of coccidiosis, feces contaminated by coccidiosis should be accumulated and fermented in time to kill coccidiosis and should not be directly used as farm manure to avoid coccidiosis pollution. Rabbit cages with coccidiosis should be disinfected with flame immediately to avoid cross-infection. Rabbits diagnosed with coccidiosis can be treated with sulfonamides twice a day.
