Citrus foot rot, also known as skirt rot, fungal disease, mainly harms the root neck and root system of citrus, often occurs at the junction of citrus trunk and ground. The cortex at the base of the damaged citrus trunk rotted, the branches and leaves withered and yellow, the tree potential declined, the citrus yield and quality decreased, and when serious, the whole plant died. When the disease occurs, the skin of the disease is brown and wet rot with the smell of wine lees, frequent glia, trunk and root rot; such as dry climate, dry and cracking of the disease, and slow expansion. Such as mild disease, leaves yellowing, gradually falling off, severe disease, after falling leaves, the tree withered. The methods of prevention and control:

Citrus foot rot

1. Choose disease-resistant rootstock. When disease-resistant rootstocks such as Fructus Aurantii were used, the grafting site of citrus could be raised properly, above 10cm above the ground. Avoid using rootstocks such as lemon, orange and tangerine to reduce the chance of disease.

two。 Strengthen cultivation management. When young trees are planted, the grafting site is exposed to the ground; for oranges with low border land or high groundwater level, pay attention to drainage to prevent long-term stagnant water; when weeding and fertilizing, rake the tree plate soil to prevent stagnant water; wash the tree trunk frequently to keep the trunk clean; apply fully mature bran water and human feces and urine, not drenched around the tree trunk. Strictly guard against explosive skin worms and longicorn beetles.

3. medication. After discovering the diseased plant, remove the soil from the root neck of the diseased plant, scrape off the decaying skin and discolored xylem with a knife sterilized by alcohol, and then scrape the disease-free tissue. After cleaning with alcohol, apply 1 ∶ 1 ∶ 100 Bordeaux solution or copper sulfate 30 times 50 times solution or 20% metalaxyl solution, 65% alum, 80% ethyl phosphorus aluminum wettable powder 100 times solution or 25% pyrethromycin wettable powder 400 times solution or 70% ethyl manganese mixture 300 times solution. After applying the medicine, replace the old soil and bury the loose sandy loam to promote the new root.

4. Change the foot. For the citrus trees with large cortical rot area and difficult wound healing, the seedlings of Fructus Aurantii can be planted near the trunk to enhance the nutrient absorption of the trees. In this way, citrus trees infected with foot rot will appear the phenomenon of "rejuvenation" and regain high and stable yield.
