Lavender, also known as spirit vanilla, vanilla, is a small shrub of Labiatae and lavender genera. It has a beautiful and elegant shape and is suitable for planting in gardens or potted plants. In addition, lavender also has medicinal value, can make spices, extract flavors, is widely used in various industries. Every year, there is a huge demand for it all over the world, and the economic benefit is remarkable. Many people want to plant it, but they don't know how to grow it. Let's take a look at its planting method.

1. Preparation for sowing

Lavender has a variety of breeding methods, but if it is planted in a large area, generally use sowing propagation, sowing time in March-June. Before sowing, the planting should be treated by sprouting. First, the planting with uniform size, full particles and glossy surface should be selected, soaked in warm water of about 40 degrees for 5-10 minutes, and continued to soak for 24 hours after cooling. After soaking, remove and dry the seeds. When sowing, it is necessary to prepare the seedling bed and allocate the seedling substrate. The size of the seedling bed depends on the planting scale, and the soil must be soft and soft. Because the lavender seed is small, the arch soil capacity is weak, and the soil is strong, it will lead to seedling emergence failure.

2. Sowing and raising seedlings

In the seeds evenly scattered on the seedbed, pay attention to control the number of seeds, after sowing, sprinkle a layer of 3-5 mm fine soil, pour a little water, so that the soil has a certain degree of moisture, can not be watered too much, so that the soil is too wet, breeding bacteria to destroy the seeds. Under normal light conditions, the temperature should be controlled at about 22 degrees, and the seeds can germinate after about 2-4 weeks. After germination, the seeds should be exposed to more than 8 hours of scattered light every day. The seedlings are fragile and vulnerable to diseases and insect pests, so it is necessary to spray a very low concentration of carbendazim from time to time. When the seedlings grow to 4-6 leaves, they can be transplanted.

3. Soil preparation and fertilization

Before transplanting, a piece of land with flat terrain, sufficient light and good drainage should be selected to clean up the field, remove weeds and residual plants, and then turn the soil deeply. Some fertilizers can be applied when ploughing, lavender has little demand for fertility, so pay attention to the amount of fertilizer, so as not to lead to excessive growth, fertilizer is mainly nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Mix fertilizer and soil evenly, rake fine and level, then ridge, and make drainage ditch between ridges and ridges to facilitate irrigation and drainage.

4. Transplanting

Before transplanting, lavender should be put in the outdoor half-yin and half-yang environment, so that it can adapt to the outdoor environment, and the seedlings should be removed with tools when transplanting. Then dig holes in the ridge surface to transplant, hole digging is to loosen the soil in the hole, stretch the root system, in the soil cover, the depth of transplanting and seedling depth should be the same. When transplanting, it is necessary to plant reasonably and closely, to control the row spacing of 20 × 30cm, to irrigate the fixed root water once after transplanting, and the best fertilizer and water management to make it grow healthily.
