Both young and mature fruits of colored peppers will receive sunburn damage. The sunny side of pepper was burned by sun irradiation, and it turned green at the initial stage. The flesh of the diseased part gradually lost water and became thin, forming a nearly transparent and shiny leathery shape, and then the diseased part expanded, slightly sunken, and the tissue became necrotic and hard, easy to crack. Pepper disease susceptible to infection, health black or pink mold layer, or even rot.

Cause: sunburn is a physiological disease. Leaves can not hide the sun, pepper by strong direct sunlight, peel temperature rise, a large amount of water evaporation so that pepper local temperature rise and be burned. Usually, the greater the temperature difference between the sunny side and the shady side of the pepper, the heavier the disease. The expansion and harvest season of spring pepper is midsummer and early autumn, such as soil water shortage, poor leaf shading, continuous dry and hot weather, or rain, dew, fog days, sunny and hot, easy to cause this disease. Too sparse planting, lack of water and fertilizer, poor growth of color pepper plants, lack of plants caused by diseases and insect pests, or early defoliation, the disease is more serious.

Control methods: (1) Increase planting density according to the characteristics of pepper varieties. (2) Colored pepper and tall stalk crops should be intercropped or shaded by shading net. (3) Increasing phosphorus and potassium fertilizer can promote the development of color pepper. During flowering and fruiting period, timely and uniform watering to keep the ground moist to reduce the incidence of disease. (4) Timely control diseases and insect pests to prevent early defoliation of color pepper plants caused by diseases and insect pests.
