We are no stranger to carrots, which are very high in vitamins and carotene. It has strong adaptability to the environment and can be planted in all parts of our country. The main producing areas are Sichuan, Hubei and Zhejiang. Fertilization is the key to the growth of carrots, so how to fertilize carrots? Let's take a look at how to fertilize carrots.

1. Apply sufficient base fertilizer

The growth of carrots needs a lot of nutrients. Carrot is a deep-rooted plant, so the nutrients in the soil must be sufficient, at the same time the soil permeability should be strong. The soil must be ploughed deeply before sowing, and then sufficient basic fertilizer must be applied to improve the soil quality. Among them, the base fertilizer is mainly organic fertilizer, which needs about 2000 kg of organic fertilizer per mu on average, and the auxiliary use of compound fertilizer is needed to improve the land.

2. Rational use of nitrogen, potassium and phosphate fertilizer

Carrots need a lot of fertilizer, in addition to base fertilizer, but also need to be topdressing many times. After the emergence of carrots, about four or five true leaves grow, this is the need for topdressing, which is mainly potash fertilizer, supplemented by the right amount of phosphate and nitrogen fertilizer. The ratio is 2.6 to 0.4 to one. In the later stage, we also need to fertilize reasonably according to the growth status of carrots.

3. Skillfully apply micro-fertilizer

Micro-fertilizer refers to some necessary trace element fertilizer. The most commonly needed trace element fertilizers for carrot growth are calcium fertilizer and magnesium fertilizer. We all soil after a long time of planting, there will be calcium deficiency phenomenon, if carrots absorb less calcium, then it is likely to lead to hollow heart disease, so long need to supplement calcium. The more magnesium is absorbed by carrots, the better the quality of carrots will be, and the higher the carotene content is, so we need to apply magnesium fertilizer skillfully in its growth process. In general, the most commonly used is calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer.

4. Foliar fertilizer

Foliar fertilizer spraying is mainly to promote the growth of carrot tubers. Boron fertilizer is the most commonly used foliar fertilizer, which is sprayed once during the seedling period and the vigorous period of foliar growth of carrots, which can promote the growth of foliage without aging. In the later stage, when the tuber grows, it needs to be afraid twice, so that the carrot tuber can be fully grown. One of the most common boron fertilizer is generally boric acid solution or borax solution, the effect is very good.

These are the most basic fertilizing methods for carrots. Generally speaking, as long as fertilization is carried out according to the above fertilization steps, fertilization proportion, fertilization time, and fertilization types, the quality of carrots will not be so bad. That's all for today's editor's sharing. I hope I can help you all.
