Cabbage is called cabbage in many places, and cabbage is also called cabbage in many places. In fact, cabbage and cabbage are just a variety of cabbage vegetables. Kale is rich in nutrients and the price is very affordable. Now there are four seasons of cabbage, that is, cabbage can be planted all the year round. Here is what the pro-agriculture network would like to share with you today about when it is best to grow cabbage. And the correct method of cabbage planting, I hope it can be helpful to everyone.

Planting time

In fact, the planting time of cabbage is not fixed, because different climates in different regions have a great impact on the growth of cabbage, so there are spring cabbage, summer cabbage, autumn cabbage and winter cabbage on the market. Generally speaking, the best planting time for cabbage is in April in spring and September in autumn, and the most suitable temperature for cabbage growth is 20 to 28 degrees, so the cabbage planted in these periods has high yield and good quality.

Planting method

1. Seed selection

There are many varieties of kale, such as kale, kale, Brussels sprouts, kale, purple kale, etc., each kind of cabbage adapts to different environments, so you can choose the most suitable variety according to your region. For example, it is more suitable to grow Brussels sprouts in Hunan, kale in the Yangtze River valley, and Brussels sprouts in dry climates. The specific selection needs to be selected according to the specific situation.

2. Land preparation

Cabbage has a strong ability to adapt to the environment, so it does not need specific soil and soil quality, but when selecting land, we should be careful not to choose continuous cropping land, which is prone to plague, so we should also pay attention to it when preparing the land. first of all, we need to clean up the debris in the field, and then start to turn the soil as deep as possible, and then expose it to the sun for a few days. Shall we go to the field to set up a ditch every other meter to two meters, and prepare for drainage in advance. Finally, an average of 1000 jin of farm manure and 50 jin of plant ash were sprinkled per mu, waiting to be sown.

3. Sowing seeds

There are two ways to grow kale. Lazy people plant seeds at regular intervals, then hide the seeds until they emerge. Another way is to first raise seedlings on the seedbed, and then transplant them. When sowing and raising seedlings, we have to wet the seedbed first, then spread the seeds evenly on the seedbed, cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil, and cover them with a layer of withered grass or a layer of plastic film to keep the soil temperature when necessary. When the seedlings grow to six to eight centimeters, we can transplant them. When planting, the row spacing is 40 cm and the plant spacing is 35 cm.

4. Management

The first thing to do after transplanting is to water it every three to five days. About ten days later, some of the plants transplanted in the field will not survive, so make up the seedlings within five to ten days, and then wait until the seedlings officially survive. In order to make the field look neat, it is necessary to carry out the first fertilization accompanied by ploughing and weeding, which can reduce unnecessary nutrient consumption. At the same time, enhance the permeability of the soil and the storage of nutrients, an average of 100 jin of urea per mu. The second fertilization is when the cabbage begins to slowly roll up its leaves, when it needs the most nutrients, requiring an average of 1,000 jin of farm manure, 50 jin of potash fertilizer, 50 jin of compound fertilizer and 30 jin of phosphate fertilizer per mu, while watering enough water. If you encounter Rain Water in many seasons, you have to go to the field to dredge the ditch and drain the water. Finally, some cabbages are relatively loose for some reasons, so we can tie them up a little with straw.

5. Disease prevention

The common diseases of cabbage are downy mildew and black root disease. Downy mildew affects the growth of cabbage leaves, generally showing some spots on the leaf surface, slowly increasing, as if moldy, and will wither in serious cases. The method of prevention and treatment is to spray chlorothalonil every five or six days, and it will be cured after two or three times. On the other hand, black root disease mainly harms the roots, and the way to prevent it is generally to do well before planting, disinfect the land with quicklime before planting, or spray chlorothalonil.
