Planting time and method of zucchini
Zucchini originated from North America and was introduced into China in the 19th century. it is rich in vitamin c and glucose and has the effect of moistening the lungs and relieving cough, clearing heat and diuresis. It is loved by the Chinese people and is now planted all over the country. So when can zucchini be planted? What do you need to pay attention to in planting? The following pro-agricultural network brings zucchini planting time and methods.
Planting time
Zucchini is a cold-resistant and heat-resistant vegetable, so it can be sowed in spring or autumn, and the suitable temperature for growth is 20 / 25 ℃, so spring sowing in early May, autumn sowing in early September, early sowing too late, serious diseases and insect pests, not conducive to sprouting.
Planting method
1. Seed treatment
The seeds need to be treated before sowing, first soak the seeds in warm water of 50-60 degrees. In order to prevent damage caused by excessive water temperature, constant stirring is needed during soaking. When the water temperature drops to about 30 degrees, remove and clean the seeds, then soak them for 5-6 hours, let the seeds fully absorb water, then fish them out and dry them. Wrap them with wet towels and place them in a greenhouse environment of about 25 degrees to accelerate germination and sow seeds when they sprout.
2. Sowing and raising seedlings
When sowing, we should first prepare the seedbed, mix with organic fertilizer and loose soil, and add appropriate amount of calcium phosphate and plant ash, so that the high-quality culture soil can be made. When sowing, pour enough water on the soil to make it moist, and then put the seeds on the top according to a certain spacing between plants. Remember to put the germinated end on the bottom, and then cover it with a layer of shallow soil.
3. Field management
It can be planted when the seedlings grow to 2-3cm. After planting, the temperature should be 25-30 degrees during the day and 15-20 degrees at night. In the root melon began to expand in time to water topdressing, generally apply 30-40 jin per mu of compound fertilizer, in the second melon expansion in topdressing, then apply 40-50 jin of urea per mu, and then apply fertilizer once a month, watering once.
4. Auxiliary pollination
If you want to increase the yield of zucchini, you can use bees or artificial pollination, which is usually the best from August to October. When pollinating, first check whether the male flower has produced pollen, gently wipe the stamens of the male flower with your hand, if there is a yellow powder, you can start pollination, then pick the male flower, remove the petals, leave the stamens, and gently rub the stamens against the stigma of the female flower. Or can use cotton swab dip powder smear on the stigma of female flowers, remember that pollination must be uniform, and not in rainy days or afternoon pollination, otherwise it is easy to grow into deformed melons.
The above are the zucchini planting time and methods brought to you by the pro-agricultural network. When planting, we should also pay attention to pest protection measures, prevention and control of diseases and insect pests lead to reduced production or no harvest, more agricultural knowledge, please pay attention to the pro-agricultural network.
