Seed prices and planting methods
Pinellia ternata is also known as Di Wen, Shou Tian, Ma Yu Guo, etc. It is a medicinal plant belonging to Pinellia genus of Araceae family. It is widely distributed in the Yangtze River Basin, Northeast China and North China. It has the effects of drying dampness and resolving phlegm, lowering adverse reaction and stopping vomiting, eliminating ruffians and dispersing masses, etc. Its cultivation value is relatively high. Let's take a look at the seed price and planting method of Pinellia ternata together.
How much is a pound of pinellia seeds?
The price of Pinellia ternata seeds is about 35~50 yuan a catty, but there are differences due to different seed varieties, quality, origin and purchase quantity. Pinellia ternata is a large number of commonly used medicinal materials varieties, at present, due to wild resources of excessive mining frequency near extinction, and artificial planting is very few, resulting in its price rising year after year, supply exceeds demand, so the cultivation benefit is relatively high, after planting with seed bulbs can be harvested in the same year, the yield of dry products per mu is about 150 kg, and the benefit per mu can reach more than 20,000 yuan.
Breeding method of Pinellia ternata
1. Tuber propagation: After 2~3 years of pinellia cultivation, underground tubers can be dug every year after seedling fall, small and medium-sized tubers with strong growth and no diseases and insect pests can be selected as seeds, mixed with fine sand with moderate humidity and stored in a ventilated and cool place, and planted in winter or spring of the following year.
2. Bulblet propagation: In summer and autumn, the mature bulblets under petioles are used for strip cultivation, 3~5 buds are placed in each hole, and the soil thickness is 1.6 cm. At the same time, proper amount of mixed fertilizer is applied, which can not only promote the germination and growth of bulbils, but also increase fertilizer for mother tubers.
3, seed propagation: more than two years old Pinellia ternata from early summer to autumn and winter can bear fruit one after another, from autumn flowering about 10 days after the buddha withered harvest mature seeds, stored in wet sand for seed use, but this method is used when seedlings are insufficient or breeding.
How to grow Pinellia ternata
1. Soil preparation and fertilization: Pinellia ternata is planted on sandy loam rich in organic matter with sunny, deep soil layer, leguminous and gramineous crops as the previous crop, deep ploughing and ridge making, 1500~2000 kg of decomposed farm manure or soil miscellaneous fertilizer and 20~25 kg of calcium superphosphate per mu.
2. Timely sowing: Pinellia ternata can be sown in spring, summer and autumn. It is better to sow before late February to early March in spring. According to the row spacing of 20~25 cm, 5~7 cm deep furrows shall be opened on the ridge, and the tubers shall be sown in the furrows. The plant spacing shall be 2~5 cm, and the seed amount per mu shall be about 60 kg.
3, seedling management: Pinellia ternata after sowing with decomposed farm manure or soil fertilizer sprinkle cover seeds, then pour 1500~2000 kg of clear manure water, cover soil and ridge surface level. Generally, after 20 days, observe once every 2 days, and remove the mulch after 6 pm when the emergence rate reaches about 60%.
4. Intertillage and fertilization: Pinellia ternata is planted in early April, about 20 days after seedling emergence, and 1000 kg of human and livestock manure water of 1:3 is applied per mu. Check the pipes in the field at any time. If weeds are found, they should be uprooted in time. The hoeing depth is about 2.5 cm, so as to avoid damaging the roots.
5. Earthen cultivation in due time: Pinellia ternata sown before early March shall be cultivated once around June 10, about 200 kg of fine mud shall be used for each mu, and the ridge surface shall be covered with a thickness of about 1.5 cm, covering the bulb buds and seeds with slight suppression. On July 15 and September 10, the soil shall be cultivated once respectively.
6. Irrigation and bud picking: Pinellia ternata likes humidity and is afraid of drought. In case of drought for a long time, irrigation should be carried out for half an hour after 6 p.m., and drainage should be carried out in time if there is too much rain. In addition to the need for seed reproduction, all buds should be removed during the growth period, so that nutrients concentrate on underground tuber growth.
Pest Control of Pinellia ternata
1. Leaf spot disease
[Harm] Purple-brown spots appear on the leaves at the beginning of the disease, and there are many small black spots on the disease spots at the later stage. In severe cases, the leaves are curled and scorched and die.
[Prevention and control] Spray 1:1:120 Bordeaux mixture or 60% Zineb 500 times solution before and at the beginning of the disease, once every 7~10 days, for 2~3 consecutive times.
2. Rot disease
[Hazard] It occurs in high temperature and high humidity seasons and low-lying ponding places. After the disease, the tubers rot and the above-ground parts are withered and the seedlings die.
[Prevention and control] timely drainage in rainy season, early stage of disease with 5% lime milk drenching holes, timely control of underground pests can reduce harm.
3. Virus disease
[Hazard] occurs in summer, the leaves of the plant are curled and twisted, forming short deformity.
[Control] Select disease-free plants to keep seeds, immediately pull out and burn the diseased plants, and irrigate the acupoints with 5% lime milk to prevent spread.
4. Red sky moth
[Harm] mainly bite leaves, serious leaves can be eaten up.
[Control] Artificial killing or spraying with 40% dimethoate milk 1500~2000 times or 90% trichlorfon 800~1000 times, once every 5~7 days, 2~3 times in succession.
