Nelumbo nucifera, also known as dripping ginseng, Tiannanxing, white aconite, etc., is a perennial herb of the Araceae family. It gets its name because the leaves are rolled in like a single horn when they are young, and the tender lotus just shows its tightly wrapped leaf tip. It is used in medicine to dry and dampen phlegm, dispel wind and stop spasm, detoxify and disperse knots. Let's take a look at the seed price and planting method.

How much is the seed of one-horn lotus per jin?

The price of lotus seeds is about 3040 yuan per jin, but the price varies greatly due to the quality, variety and origin of the seeds. Nelumbo nucifera can be propagated by tubers and seeds, and the production is mainly based on tuber asexual propagation. The bulbs around the bulbs are used for planting in autumn, and the bulbs are divided into two kinds with and without roots. The larger corms with roots can be harvested in the same year after planting, and the small bulbs without roots can be harvested in the following year.

Planting conditions of Nelumbo nucifera

Single horn lotus is born in wasteland, hillside and ditch. It can tolerate cold, shade, drought, cool and humid environment. The soil is suitable for sandy loam with good drainage. General black loam, sandy loam, flat land, sloping land and mountain area can grow, but the soil should not be too sticky or too alkaline. The requirements for the previous crops are not strict, and the grain fields and vegetable fields are growing well. High yield can be obtained by cultivation under forest or by simultaneous cultivation of grape field and fruit tree land.

The planting method of Nelumbo nucifera

1. Planting time: the one-horned lotus is generally planted in late April, and a 1.3-meter-wide border is made on the whole land, and then a horizontal ditch is opened on the border, with a distance of 22 cm to 26 cm and a depth of 7 cm to 10 cm. One tuber is planted every 7-10 cm, and the bud mouth is upward.

2. Application of sufficient basic fertilizer: 2000-3000 kg barnyard manure or compost per mu was applied, and after manure was applied, the cover soil was level with the border surface, and the soil cover depth was 4-5 cm, slightly suppressed, with 20-25 kg tubers per mu.

3. Field management: the growing period of single horn lotus is very short, and its emergence is relatively late. Generally, it emerges around June. In the middle of the year, intermediate ploughing, weeding and fertilization should be carried out, and in the first ten days of August, intermediate ploughing, weeding and topdressing should be carried out again.

4. Harvest and leave seed: the lotus was collected in late September, the size was separated, and the large ones were removed from the soil and fibrous roots, dried in the sun for medicinal use, and the small bulbs were reserved for planting. The corm was stored in a kiln and stored in layers with dry fine sediment for overwintering. The pit temperature should be kept at 2-5 ℃.
