The planting method of scutellaria barbata
Scutellaria barbata is a perennial herb, it is not only petite and lovely in appearance, but also often made into potted plants to decorate the home environment, which has high ornamental value. And its whole plant can be used in medicine, it has the effects of relieving pain and removing blood stasis, clearing heat and dampness, anti-cancer and so on. It is widely used in medicine. Let's see how it is planted.
1. Select the place
Scutellaria barbata is often wild at the edge of fields, ditches or wet places by the side of the road. at this time, because it likes a warm and humid environment, the soil is too dry for its seed germination and growth, and the soil requirements are not strict. Therefore, when planting, according to its habit, choose an area close to the water source for watering. Turn the soil deeply before planting. When ploughing, apply 1000 kg of barnyard manure and 20-30 kg of compound fertilizer as base fertilizer, mix it with the soil evenly, and shape the rake flat to make the bed, which is required to be 1.3m high and 20-30cm wide. Drains are required all around.
2. Sowing seeds
Its reproduction method is mainly sowing, except in winter, the other three seasons can be sown, and its fruit is ripe in autumn. At this time, the seeds can be collected, dried, threshed, removed and stored after drying. When sowing, ditch on the border surface according to the row spacing 30cm, the ditch depth is 3-5cm, should not be too deep, the seeds are mixed with plant ash and sown evenly into the ditch, about half a jin of seeds per mu, cover a layer of fine fertile soil after sowing, do not over-compaction. Sprinkle water after sowing, so that the soil has a certain degree of moisture, and then cover the border with a layer of straw, heat preservation and moisturizing, in order to facilitate seedling emergence.
3. Field management
Generally, about half a month seedlings emerge, and cover weeds should be removed in time after emergence. When the seedlings grow to 1-2cm, weeding and fertilization should be carried out. Weeding is best done by artificial weeding, and herbicides should not be used, so as not to cause seedling death due to drug damage. Just apply dilute manure once. When the seedlings grow to 3-4cm, interseedling and replenishment should be carried out to improve the seedling growth environment, and weeds should be removed and dilute manure water should be applied once after the seedlings. When the seedlings grow 5cm, the seedlings can be fixed for transplanting. When transplanting, the holes are dug according to the row spacing of 20 × 20cm, with one seedling in each hole, covered with soil, compacted and watered.
4. Diseases and insect pests
Scutellaria barbata has tenacious vitality and certain resistance to diseases. there are few diseases when planting, and aphids and Pieris rapae are generally harmful to its growth. They will continue to nibble on the stems and leaves of the plant, and in serious cases, they will wither and die, so they can be sprayed with 90% trichlorfon 800 to 1000 times the liquid, and the effect is faster.
The above is the planting method of Scutellaria barbata. I hope it can help you. If you want to know more about the planting of medicinal materials, please follow us.
