Planting method of Rhodiola
Rhodiola is a perennial herb, is a widely used traditional Chinese medicine, not only edible, its beauty effect is excellent, now many skin care products have added Rhodiola ingredients, high economic value. Many people want to plant it, but they don't know how to do it. Let's follow the editor to take a look at its planting method.
1. Select the place
Wild Rhodiola generally grows in sunny hillsides, rock crevices or grass and bushes, and has strong environmental adaptability. Like cold and humid environment, can withstand drought and cold, for planting soil requirements are not strict, so planting should choose higher altitude, cool climate, high temperature period day and night temperature increases in the mountain area. The planting soil should be loam with deep soil layer, good drainage and rich in humus.
2. Soil preparation and fertilization
After selecting the cultivation land, clean up the weeds and residual plants on the ground, turn the soil deep into 30-40cm, rake the soil fine, and apply fertilizer when ploughing, generally applying compost 30000 kg per hectare, depending on the corresponding increase or decrease in the fertilizer level of the soil. After mixing the soil and fertilizer evenly, the higher terrain can make a border with a width of 1 meter and a high 20cm, and the lower environment can form ridges, but if it is a flat slope, there is no need to raise ridges or make the border, and dig a few drainage ditches.
3. Sowing and raising seedlings
Seeds can be purchased, or fresh seeds can be picked when ripe for sowing, which can be sowed in spring or autumn, from March to April and autumn in September. Among them, spring sowing is to soak the seeds to improve the germination rate, while autumn sowing does not need secondary operation. When soaking the seeds, put the seeds into a clean cloth bag, then soak them in warm water for 2-3 days, and pay attention to changing the water when soaking, so as not to affect the germination rate of the seeds. After soaking the seeds, the seeds can be removed and dried and then sown. Sowing using the method of ditch sowing, generally use 15-20 kg per hectare, cover a layer of fine soil after sowing, and then use a duck house to cover with a layer of straw to keep warm and moisturize.
4. Transplanting
It takes one year for the seedlings to grow after sowing, and the transplanting time is usually carried out before the aboveground stems and leaves wither or the plants turn green in autumn. In general, the effect of transplanting in spring is better, dig out the seedlings before they sprout, be careful not to damage the roots, and then transplant by stages according to the size of the roots. The row spacing of the plant should be controlled at 20 × 10cm when transplanting, the root terminal bud should be upward when transplanting, and 2-3cm should be used when covering the soil. If the soil is too dry, it should be watered immediately.
The above is the planting method of Rhodiola. I hope it can help you. If you want to know more about the planting of medicinal materials, please follow us.
