The gentleman orchid is easy to feed, but it is more difficult to want the gentleman orchid to blossom. Many people have raised it for many years, but they have never blossomed. What is the reason? Let's have a look!

To meet the basic needs of the orchid, the number of unilateral leaves is more than 12 before flowering, so the seedlings have to be raised for about 3 years, blossom from February to May every year, properly maintained, and can bloom twice a year.

(1)。 Soil requirement

Magnolia needs good permeability, loose and fertile slightly acidic soil, Cymbidium is a fleshy root, so the soil requires good drainage, afraid of stagnant water causing rotting roots. The soil can be mixed with 5 parts of rotten leaf soil, 3 parts of pine needle, 1 part of coarse sand and 1 part of bone powder, and broken bricks and tiles can be placed at the bottom of the flowerpot, which is beneficial to drainage. To ensure that the soil is slightly acidic, you can regularly irrigate ferrous sulfate or make some acidic fermentation water. Add a little bit when watering, and the concentration is not too high. Turn the basin and change the soil regularly, otherwise the soil is hardened and the permeability is weakened, which is not conducive to the growth and flowering of Cymbidium.

(2)。 Lighting requirement

The gentleman orchid likes the light, but does not like the strong light, also withstands the shade. Autumn and winter can receive more light, especially in winter, sufficient light can ensure the differentiation of flower buds, which is very beneficial to the flowering of Cymbidium. Proper increase of light during pregnancy can make the gentleman's orchid bright.

(3)。 Fertilizer requirement

Stop the application of nitrogen fertilizer in the early stage of flowering, you need to apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, otherwise it is not conducive to its flowering. After entering the flower bud stage, the application amount of bone powder and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer can be applied to make the flower more colorful. Cut off the residual flowers in time after flowering and supplement fertilizer to provide nutrients for later growth. Fertilization follows the principle of frequent application of thin fertilizer, do not apply thick fertilizer and raw fertilizer that has not been fermented, especially in summer, fertilizer can be stopped.

(4)。 Temperature requirement

The suitable temperature for the growth of Cymbidium is 10-30 degrees. Measures should be taken to keep warm in winter in the north. During the period of high temperature in summer, water can often be sprayed to cool down. Controlling the temperature can make the orchid blossom normally, too high or low temperature will affect the flowering of the plant.

(5)。 Moisture requirement

Magnolia is in the period of vigorous growth and bud gestation in autumn, it is necessary to ensure the supply of water, watering can not make the basin soil too wet, keep the soil slightly moist, do not wait for the soil to be completely dry before watering, which is not conducive to bud pregnancy.
