Spinach, also known as Persian food, is an annual vegetable. Spinach is rich in carotene and various vitamins, and its nutrition is very beneficial to the growth of the human body. Its origin is Iran, but the planting area in China is very wide, spinach is fond of fertilizer in the process of growth and development, and there is a great demand for nutrition. So we need to do a good job of fertilization in the planting process, so how to fertilize spinach? Let's take a look at it.

1. Base fertilizer

Spinach takes a long time from sowing to ripening, so we must apply sufficient base fertilizer when planting winter spinach. Because of the low temperature in winter and the decline of soil fertility, the lack of soil fertility will lead to spinach de-fertilization, which will have a certain impact on spinach germination and emergence. The base fertilizer should not only be sufficient, but also should not be excessive, otherwise it is easy to grow. The base fertilizer can be mixed with fully mature farm manure and quantitative phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, which can not only make the soil fully absorb fertilizer, but also ensure that spinach has sufficient nutrition to ensure the growth.

2. Nitrogen fertilizer

Nitrogen fertilizer is the key to ensure the rapid growth of spinach, but it is also an important factor leading to the failure of spinach planting. When the true leaves of spinach grow to about 6, its cold resistance is also the strongest at this stage. Therefore, if spinach is sown within a reasonable sowing time and sufficient base fertilizer is applied, then we should reduce the application of nitrogen fertilizer before winter. Because excessive nitrogen fertilizer will promote the growth rate of spinach, resulting in missing the stage of spinach with the strongest cold resistance, affecting the survival rate of overwintering. If the base fertilizer is insufficient and the sowing time is wrong, nitrogen fertilizer can be applied appropriately according to the actual situation to improve the growth speed of spinach and ensure the success of overwintering.

3. Returning to green fertilizer

After the successful overwintering, the spinach will return to the green stage, and the demand for fertilizer and water will gradually rise, so it is necessary to topdressing the spinach in time according to the spinach growth. Topdressing can be done with watering, but pay attention to the time of topdressing. Too early and too late will affect the growth of spinach. Early topdressing will lower the surface temperature, inhibit the growth of spinach, and affect the slow seedling of spinach. Spinach in the green stage should be fertilized at least twice, the first before and after the Spring Equinox, and the second before and after Ching Ming Festival, because these two stages are the key periods when the surrounding temperature gradually rises, which is conducive to soil absorption of fertilizer nutrients.

4. Main points of topdressing

The best period of topdressing spinach should be before its flowering stage. Topdressing before flowering can appropriately delay the flowering period of spinach, which is beneficial to improve the pollination and fertilization rate of spinach, increase the yield of spinach and strengthen the quality. Spinach is sensitive to the change of nitrogen fertilizer, which is divided into ammonium nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen. The soil temperature has not increased after overwintering, so the digestion of ammonium nitrogen is not very obvious. Therefore, when we apply nitrogen fertilizer, we should reduce or even stop the use of ammonium nitrogen and turn to topdressing nitrate nitrogen.

The above is a brief introduction of spinach fertilization methods, do not think that fertilization is the most basic work in planting, do not ignore its importance. It is because the most basic is the most important, reasonable fertilization can not only promote the growth of spinach, increase yield, but also avoid soil damage because of unreasonable fertilization methods.
