Last Updated: 2024/09/20, Gladiolus is mainly propagated by dividing balls, and it can also be propagated by cutting balls, sowing and other methods. The main results are as follows: (1) after the female ball of Gladiolus is planted, through the growth of a cultivation season, after flowering, each female ball can produce 1-2 large new balls and more seed balls, and these new balls and seeds which are naturally born on the mother ball can be removed.

When planting a large number of small balls, you can use strip sowing or sowing. If you want to blossom in the same year, you can also use a nutrition bag (nutrition bowl) to raise seedlings in the greenhouse, that is, sowing the seeds in the nutrition bag in late March, keeping the soil temperature 18-25 ℃, air temperature 20-25 ℃, humidity 70% Rue 80%. The seeds can emerge and grow better, and will be moved to the open field together with the nutrition bag in mid-May. Spring sowing in the leeward to the sun to make a seedbed, and apply rotten farm manure, bed soil sifted, flat, irrigation before sowing. The seeds were soaked in 55 ℃ water for 15 minutes, then soaked for 5-6 hours, dried and sowed. Buckle the shed after covering the soil, pay attention to ventilation and cooling after emergence, prevent high temperature roasting seedlings, remove the shed after the final frost, strengthen field management, dig up the balls and replant them in the next spring after the stems and leaves die in autumn.
