A flower can express joy, and a bouquet of flowers can express love.

But the flowers do not bloom often, a gust of wind, a rain, will attract colorful, sentimental ancients, chanting a lot of poems about falling flowers.

But there are also positive ancients who could not bear to wait for flowers to wither, but tried their best to prolong the aging of flowers.

In the Book of convenience for the people in the Qing Dynasty, Kuang Kuang said: "such as peony and peony in a bottle, first burn the branch and break it, melt wax and seal it, and immerse it in water, which can last for several days."

In his horticultural monograph Flower Mirror, Chen Yizi also recorded the methods of keeping different flowers fresh: "if daffodils should be raised in salt water." And plum blossom "if stored in an ancient bottle, often thorn with soup, but also can bear cotyledons."

The ancients tried their best to make the fresh flowers stop the axis of time in the room.

How on earth can we keep the flowers fresh and blooming when they break away from the branches and become flowers in a bottle? Modern people have developed a more systematic approach and look forward to it:

Step1: choose flowers with fresh air

If you want the flowers to bloom for a long time in your hands, you need to observe carefully when buying flowers: if the water is muddy and the stems and leaves are yellowing and slime, it means that the flowers are not fresh enough, please give up decisively. We should choose flowers whose stems, leaves and water are relatively clean, and then observe the growth and state of the flowers. The really fresh flowers always reveal a breath of fresh air, the state is vigorous and the petals are full and gratifying.

Step2: cut, cut into a 45-degree bevel

After you get the beautiful and fresh flowers, you need to prune them as soon as possible.

Pruning is also a technical skill: when cutting flower branches, the cut should be cut into a 45-degree slope to prevent bacteria from the flower roots from harming the flowers, and to expand the water absorption area and keep the water-absorbing pipes smooth so that the flowers can last longer.

But for some woody flowers, such as wood hydrangea and wax plum, it is not enough to "look up at 45 degrees". You can split the flower branch longitudinally and clip a small stone in the middle, or smash it with a hammer at the end of 3-4cm to maximize the water absorption area.

Tips1: if it is a flower that does not secrete milk, it can be cut in water to prevent more air from entering the end of the stem through the incision, blocking the stem from entering the necessary water.

Tips2: carnations should not be pruned at the branches. Chrysanthemums had better use hand-folded stems instead of scissors.

Step3: disinfect, fragile flowers are afraid of infection

People are susceptible to infection when they have a wound, and so are the flowers, which need to disinfect the incision. Common methods include hot water scalding, burning, salt coating, vinegar dipping, acid or alkali smearing, etc., to ensure that the ends of flower branches soaked in water are not susceptible to infection.

Burning method: apply a little alcohol to the incision and burn it in a flame. When the incision is nearly scorched black, insert the vase. But this method is only suitable for woody plants or plants with rough branches, such as cloves, plum blossoms, peony, chrysanthemum.

Perm method: put the end of the flower branch 2-3cm in boiling water for about 2 minutes, immediately soak it in cold water and insert it into the vase. This method is suitable for flowers with soft stems, such as tulips and peonies.

Step4: aquaculture, only one kind of nutrient is used.

When everything is ready, it's time to keep the flowers: the best water for flower arrangement is well or river water, and the tap water should be kept for a day before use. The florist will use fresh flower preservative. If you don't have it at home, you can add a small amount of salt, sugar, aspirin, etc., to replenish the nutrition the flowers need and inhibit bacteria. But remember, you can only use one of these.

No matter what you add, change the water in the bottle every 2 days or so, and clean the branches and leaves at the same time.

Sugar water culture method: add about 2% to 3% white sugar in the water to provide a carbon source to prolong the life of the flowers, but we should pay attention to adding white vinegar and other substances that inhibit bacteria, so as to avoid the breeding of a large number of bacteria caused by the addition of white sugar.

Wine cultivation method: add a little beer to the water, the flowering period can be extended by more than ten days, but the flowers that are too coquettish are less. The experimental results show that pouring 50ml beer in each pot can not only promote arrow drawing, but also make the flowers tall and thick, and the flowers large and gorgeous.

Tips: please completely remove the flowers and leaves that are soaked in the water, because the rotten leaves will make the water dirty and hinder the water absorption efficiency of the flower stems, and will also make the nutrients in the water unnecessary consumption.

Step5: put away from ripe fruits and vegetables

Now, you have a pot of flowers that are infinitely tall, healthy and beautiful, but where to put them will really determine the life and death of the flowers in the coming week.

Please stay away from direct sunlight and heating, otherwise it will accelerate the respiration of flowers and branches and evaporation of water, which can easily cause flowers to wither. Please stay away from ripe fruits and vegetables, because ripe fruits and vegetables will release a lot of ethylene, causing flowers to rot.

Some must-see colored eggs

★ if your flower unfortunately has lost water and wilted, there is also a first aid: when the flower branch begins to wilt, cut off the 3~6cm at the end of the flower branch, and then put it in a container full of cold water, only the flower head will be exposed, and it will recover in about 1-2 hours. This method is especially suitable for roses.

★ adds a small amount of urea or soil extract to the clear water of chrysanthemum, which is filtered by adding fertile soil and soil, which can be more than ten days longer than that of ordinary water.

★ white orchids are wrapped in wet cloth at night and opened during the day, which can delay the withering time of the flowers by 2-3 days.
