The first Taiwan School lunch Competition in 2018 was held in Taipei.

The "2018 first Taiwan School lunch Competition", sponsored by the preparatory office of the Great Food and Education Association and the Fubon Culture and Education Foundation School lunch 22 project, will be held on October 20 (Saturday) to 21 (Sunday) in Taipei.

In this first national school lunch competition held by the people in Taiwan, a total of 24 school dieticians and chefs from 12 teams, including Xinbei, Taoyuan, Ilan, Taichung, Changhua, Tainan and Kaohsiung, entered the final finals to compete for the winner of the best school lunch in 2018. The final is divided into the competition group and the publication group. Six school lunches should be completed within 90 minutes of the "cooking practice" competition. At the same time, the competition group will have an additional five-minute "food education teaching" course.

This competition is more carefully arranged for 11 domestic and foreign experts from different professional fields to form a jury, including Zhang Xiaoyan, a well-known host, Sheng Zhiren, general manager of Taiwan's only Michelin 3-star Restaurant Group, Mr. Liancheng, founder of "Japan National School Jiazi Park", who came to Taiwan as an international judge from Tokyo, two senior primary school students selected through essay competition, and scholars who have been engaged in nutrition teaching for a long time. And representatives of the Ministry of Education and the Council of Agriculture of the school lunch authority, by agitating different viewpoints, choose a school lunch that takes into account food safety, balanced nutrition, visual beauty and rich local food cultural characteristics.

With the help of Japan, which has entered the 13th year and attracted wide attention from all walks of life, the main purpose of this competition is to highlight the importance of the professional ability of school dietitians and kitchen staff, and to improve the overall quality of food on campus. and implement food farmer education. It is hoped that through the cross-county and city-wide and international exchange and learning opportunities of practitioners in the national competition, more than 170 million lunches will be provided every day in schools around Taiwan, thus becoming the most important source of nutrition and vitality for school children and teachers across the country.
