Apple seed planting method
Apple is our most common fruit, we can eat it all the year round, after we eat the flesh, we will leave the core and seeds inside, but you know, these plants can also be planted. So how to plant apple seeds? Let's take a look at the detailed introduction.
1. Planting preparation
Break the core of the apple after eating, take out the seeds, wash them with water and then remove them to dry until the shell has no moisture. When preparing a sealed container, wrap the seeds in paper towels, then refrigerate the container in the refrigerator for 2-3 months and control the temperature at 4-5 degrees Celsius. This is to simulate the winter temperature, which is not necessary if it is winter. Check regularly when refrigerated to make sure the container is moist. After 2 months, the seeds begin to germinate and can be taken out.
2. Raising seedlings
You can choose an area to sow, or you can use potted soil to raise seedlings and transplant them when the seedlings grow to a certain extent. The best soil for raising seedlings has a neutral pH value, and there is also a grass layer on the soil. Do not apply any chemical fertilizer when sowing, so as not to cause seed death. You can eat compost or cover some plant leaves, which can also provide sufficient fertility. The seeds are very fragile, be careful when sowing, move gently, put the seeds in the soil and cover the soil, gently pat, and then water to keep the soil moist. After sowing, it will be placed in a slightly higher temperature, sufficient light environment, about a few weeks will begin to sprout, when it grows to a certain extent, it will begin to transplant.
3. Site selection
When you can start transplanting, you should choose an address for transplanting, taking into account three factors: light, soil and space. Apple is a light-loving fruit tree, which should maintain more than 6 hours of light every day, so it should have a sufficient light environment; apples like moist soil environment, but are afraid of waterlogging, so they require good soil drainage and good ability to conserve water and fertilizer, and pH value is neutral. The apple tree planted from the seed is not dwarfed, so it means that it will grow to a height of 9 meters, so make sure that there is enough space for it to grow, with each tree 4-5 meters apart.
4. Transplanting
After selecting a good planting plot, you can transplant, preferably in spring or autumn, when the temperature and climate can improve the survival rate of seedlings. First dig a hole with a diameter of seedling root salad, and after digging, loosen the soil at the edge of the pit to make the root grow and develop better. Then spread the roots of the seedlings flat in the pit, straighten the seedlings, pat them on the covered soil, and water them well. Organic fertilizer or compost can also be applied when planting to make seedlings grow faster, but be sure not to apply chemical fertilizer or immature organic fertilizer and compost, so as not to cause root burning and cause seedling death.
