Rocks of Eighteen Scholars camellia is not only a famous flower in China, but also a county flower in Dehua County, Fujian Province. It is often used as an ornamental flower to beautify the environment in the urban construction of our country. The flower type has many petals, long flowering period, many colors and bright colors. It takes 4 ~ 5 years for normal propagation and cultivation plants to blossom, while it takes longer for plants to grow to larger bodies. Urban construction is different from family ornamental planting, generally need camellia seedlings with larger plant size, because the growth cycle is longer, resulting in low land utilization, if the existing output lags behind the needs of urban development, increasing the number of cultivation can not only meet the market demand in time, but also increase the market risk of excessive cultivation. In addition, the single color of the existing camellia plant, the position of the flowers on the plant can not be booked, it is difficult to use color to spell out the pattern, even if the outline is not easy. To this end, Fujian Dehua Rocks of Eighteen Scholars Camellia Science and Technology Research Institute organized technicians to solve the above technical problems by using Camellia oleifera as rootstock to graft Rocks of Eighteen Scholars camellias, and obtained the national invention patent (Patent No. ZL2014 1 0444697.1) in December 2017. The main technologies are introduced as follows.
