Last Updated: 2024/11/05, In a twinkling of an eye, the National Day short holiday has passed, and the weather has slowly entered the late autumn season. I believe everyone can feel the cool breeze these days. To say which kind of flowers bloom most in autumn, in fact, in addition to chrysanthemums, there is also this kind of flowers with their own fragrance, which is not only fragrant and beautiful, but also useful in life!

I believe we have seen a lot of this kind of flowers in our daily life, that is, sweet-scented osmanthus. The fragrance of sweet-scented osmanthus is very smell, and the picked sweet-scented osmanthus can be made into a variety of food, if you keep a pot at home, it will do a lot of good. In fact, potted sweet-scented osmanthus is not difficult, as long as you find cutting branches, you can enjoy sweet-scented osmanthus and smell sweet-scented osmanthus at home without spending a penny.

Sweet-scented osmanthus cutting should first be optimistic about the time, generally in the spring and autumn season for cutting survival rate is the highest, now it is autumn, like friends can start! We generally choose the cuttings that are relatively healthy and not eaten by insects, which can ensure the germination speed after cutting. After we have found the branch, we need to trim it into a small section of about 10 centimeters, and remember that only one or two leaves at the top will be enough.

In order to facilitate the cutting into the basin, we can also trim the bottom of the branch into an oblique mouth. After the branches are treated, the next step is to choose the cutting soil substrate, and sweet-scented osmanthus usually grows in sandy soil, so we had better use sandy soil with good air permeability and drainage when choosing cutting substrate. When you are ready, you can cuttage!

When cutting, only 1/3 of the branches can be inserted into the soil to ensure that a bud point stays outside. After the cuttings, we watered the branches thoroughly, and then moved to the shade to wait for them to germinate. Because sweet-scented osmanthus likes to grow in a warm environment, we can also use plastic wrap to keep warm, and then water it regularly to improve the speed of germination.

In this way, it does not take a month to see the sweet-scented osmanthus branches begin to take root and sprout, and after the root system grows more and more mature, it can be transplanted into a large flowerpot. So we can call the cuttage a success. However, we should not be taken lightly in the later maintenance.

Sweet-scented osmanthus does not like water, so it should be watered as little as possible in normal times, especially in the period of budding and rainy weather. When it is hot in summer, it can be watered appropriately, which can promote the flowering speed of sweet-scented osmanthus potted plants. Sweet-scented osmanthus likes fertilizer, we must keep its fertilizer adequate in the process of conservation, especially in the spring sprouting period, fertilizer should be applied almost every ten days, fertilizer will generally choose thin fertilizer water or compound fertilizer containing phosphorus, so that osmanthus fragrans can bloom faster.

If you want sweet-scented osmanthus potted plants to grow fast, regular pruning is essential. We should trim off rotten branches and pest branches regularly, so as to ensure that sweet-scented osmanthus plants will not grow in vain and bloom as soon as possible. Friends who like sweet-scented osmanthus can try to raise a pot of sweet-scented osmanthus at home by cutting, so that they can smell the wonderful fragrance without spending money.
