Cousin went up the mountain to pick up a basket of pine bark raised orchids, which was thrown away on the spot. Uncle: don't harm the orchids.

The two pots of orchids raised by my uncle have arrived at the time of transplanting in pots this year, and the growth of orchids will be affected if they are not divided. Well, my uncle, who had been working in the cement factory, could not find the time to manage such things, so he had no time to divide the orchids, which made his cousin at home feel a little anxious, so he decided to give it a try.

So, early yesterday morning, while my uncle went to work, I was a little bored at home, so I decided to go to the mountain to find some orchid plants. And my cousin heard that the pine bark in the mountains is a rare good plant. I decided to go into the pine forest to get some back, so I was asked to go and ride my bike around the forest for a long time. I finally didn't waste my time. I cut a small basket of pine bark with a knife and casually dug up some mountain soil to take home.

Take it home and cut the pine bark into small pieces and wash it, add medium-sized river sand and humus, stir well, then turn the orchid into pots, untie the orchids, trim and disinfect the orchids. When my uncle came back from work and saw that we were working hard, he came over to take a look at the plant material. Without saying a word, we threw away our evenly mixed plant material.

This made my cousin and I a little angry and argued with him on the spot. Uncle roared, you two are really good at things, not only peeling the bark of the pine forest, but also using such things to kill orchids. In that case, we are a little confused. He continued that such fresh pine bark contains too much oil and will not ferment and rot in a short period of time, and it will be counterproductive.

Pine bark is indeed a good plant for orchid conservation, but it must be a pine tree that has been lying in the pine forest for several years, and the pine bark has been fermented and rotten. In addition, some black humus soil and mature pine needles in the forest are more suitable for orchid planting. In the future, it should be noted that there are three kinds of pine bark, one is live pine, one is pine bark from those lumber mills, and the other is pine bark that has rotted in the forest for several years. Because the first two kinds of skin are fresh, they are not easy to be used as planting materials.

This time it really made us realize that when we encounter such a thing in the future, we should not do it blindly, and we have to listen to the old master, otherwise, if we don't talk about it, we may even do harm to the orchid, don't you think?
