How to cultivate moss for landscape bonsai

The moss is the clothing of mountains and rocks, some of which live, but without which they wither. Therefore, the general landscape bonsai should be transplanted with moss to add the natural taste of bonsai. The principle of raising moss in mountains and rocks is "there is a deep gully in the mountain, but there is no stone in the sun." That is, in the shade of the mountain, there is moss in the deep ditch, but it is impossible to grow moss on the sunny side and protruding stone. Only by raising moss according to this principle can it conform to the law of nature. There are roughly several ways to raise moss in mountains and rocks:

One is to soak the rocks for use in water for several days and then take them out. Cut off the old moss selected from nature, rub them into clay and starch paste, so that there are moss sporophytes in the paste. Gently brush the mud paste evenly on the rocks with a small brush, place it in a shade, and cover the grass curtains to keep it moist, and moss will soon grow.

The second is to sprinkle rocks with the extract of soaking solution such as rice water, vegetable leaves, bean shells and pericarp. After each shower, put the rocks in a cool place, cover the grass curtain, keep it moist, and you can see a little light sooner or later. Repeat every 5 days, and after a month or so, moss can grow on the stone.

The third is to display the bonsai under the trees or under the corner of the wall in a more damp place, so that Rain Water can get wet naturally and grow moss after a period of time.

Fourth, soak the rocks and wash them in a mud paste made of clay and rice water, so that the mountain surface is covered with mud, then shovel a layer of naturally growing mud moss thinly with a shovel, stick it on the surface of the rocks, and keep it in a cool place for maintenance.
