Affected by the sky-high ❶ of agricultural land, if there is no land or rich assets at home, then for most young farmers, the first task is to tie up (rent) land with people. However, for me, who has been away from home for a few years, the word "hometown" seems to be frozen in front of the schoolbag on my shoulder. Strange and intimate. And where should we start to find land? Who should ask from?

Linking paths lead everywhere

Perhaps, the countryside is no longer suddenly enlightened by people's first foray into the Peach Blossom Garden, and the villagers living in it are not happy, and some people are suspected of begging for mercy, but the residual flowers and willows still have a dark fragrance; the intertwined roots are not limited to the strange light and land on the farmland; there are also interpersonal networks closely intertwined by blood and geography, turning into buildings leading to the past, the present, and the future. If you can cut open a village, you may have to see the rings, while the children of the new era are cringingly squeezed into the outermost circle, often feeling "thrown out" under the high-speed rotation of the times. But, honey, did you find out?

When you are farther away from the center of the circle, the centripetal force becomes stronger, and the feeling of "being thrown out", from another point of view, is precisely due to the effect of centripetal force.

Although the population density in the countryside is low, the "sweet" neighborhood relationship may be so sticky that people who are used to apartment life feel suffocated, but when you muster up the courage to sincerely talk to them, everyone will be your family, teacher and friend. A suitable field

Regardless of habitual or friendly farming, the following points should be paid attention to when looking at the land:

Drainage system: if it is dry farming, more attention should be paid to it. The advice given by Ka K Dad is to use the wind platform to observe the drainage of the land after heavy rain.

Irrigation water: in the Zhuoshui River basin, due to the ❷ of the gathering Weir, the water supply of the water channel is unstable, and most farmers give up the stream water rich in organic matter, and build pumping machines at the edge of the field to extract groundwater.

Soil quality: in Minnan dialect, soil is divided into "soil meat" and "soil silt". The former refers to the soil species with a higher proportion of clay. You can choose according to the preferences of the crops you want to grow in the future. However, Ka K is a little optimistic that "there is no such thing as a bad place in the world, only insufficient effort".

Rizhao: in the northern hemisphere, most of the sunshine comes from the south, so if there is a shelter in the south of the field, it may affect the sunshine length of part of the planting area, but it can also be regarded as an "opportunity" to grow plants that do not like light.

In addition, for small farmers engaged in friendly land farming models, we have to consider:

Landlords: for some farmers (landlords) who are used to using pesticides or herbicides, they are less receptive to friendly land farming and, if possible, try to cooperate with landlords who can agree with their own ideas. For example, weed management, while adhering to its own principles, can communicate and coordinate with the landlords, but at the same time, it should also respect the landlords' feelings of caring for the land, so use the most diligent side to weed!

Neighboring fields: because the farmland is fragmented ❸, and the cultivated area of friendly land still accounts for a very small number, it is very difficult to avoid pesticide pollution in the neighboring fields, so in addition to planting isolated zones, we can also actively understand the farmers working in the neighboring fields, and even directly contract the ridge weeding work on the border with him!

Agricultural insurance

After deciding to engage in agriculture, considering the future income and the part of agricultural insurance to increase occupational disaster insurance, I think it is the best choice to apply for agricultural insurance. However, although the Council of Agriculture will adopt the mode of decoupling between people and land, so that actual tillers can participate in agricultural insurance without worrying about a lease land contract, under the government's thinking of agro-enterprise development, the regulation on the operating area of farmland for practitioners has become an obstacle for me to apply for agricultural insurance. at the same time, it also restricts the diversity and development of crops per unit area of agricultural land. In addition, although the operating area of agricultural land is up to the standard, if the landowner who rents the agricultural land still uses the agricultural land number to apply for agricultural insurance (although the landlord himself does not farm), the land number will not be included in the calculation of "operating area".

Subsidy

For example, the "Green Environment payment to the ground" program. Its intention is very good. It can encourage farmers to switch to miscellaneous grain crops, increase Taiwan's grain self-sufficiency rate, and respond to the food crisis that may be caused by high oil prices in the future. However, if the actual tenancy farmers want to apply for this subsidy, they still have to go through the landlord ❺. It is unclear whether the landlords are willing to transfer the subsidy to the tenants.

For tenants who are unable to obtain land leases (especially friendly farmers), they always have to worry that the land will be suddenly resumed by the landlords and do everything they can to maintain good relations with the landlords, so whether it is to coordinate agricultural insurance or subsidies with the landlords, it is often like a "hindrance" in the heart.

Return to the original heart

The original intention of choosing farming and friendly farming is not only because I love to work barefoot on the land, but also the added value of this work-serving the life and non-life around it, experiencing "beauty" with five senses, finding peace, etc.; finally, I still want to mention "love" in a very tacky tone.
