Bergamot is also known as bergamot, it first appeared in the Compendium of Materia Medica, it can promote digestion, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases have a certain effect, but some of its ingredients also have certain toxins, so it has to be treated before taking it. It is a precious kind of traditional Chinese medicine, so let's follow the editor today to take a look at some of the problems it needs to pay attention to when planting.

1. Time

The planting time of bergamot is mainly related to its planting method, followed by the climate of the planting place. There are three main planting methods of bergamot, the first is seed propagation, which is usually sown around March every year, while the second is propagated by cutting, which is usually planted around March and August and September every year, and the third is strip propagation, which is very close to the time of cuttage planting. Secondly, there are some differences in climate in different regions of our country, so we choose the most appropriate time to plant according to the specific situation.

2. Soil

Although bergamot has strong adaptability, it still has a certain selectivity to the soil, and the soil with excessive alkalinity is not suitable for planting bergamot, so when choosing the planting site, we should pay attention to testing the acidity of the soil first. it is best that the acidic soil is the best, and the second is to choose the soil with good drainage system and strong soil permeability to plant.

3. Temperature

Bergamot is a tropical and subtropical plant, so it has certain requirements for temperature. the most suitable temperature for bergamot growth is about 20 to 25 degrees, in which the highest temperature for planting can not be higher than 32 degrees Celsius. Higher than this temperature, the bergamot plant will be burned to death, and the lowest temperature can not be lower than five degrees. If it is lower than this temperature, it will stop growing. In many areas of our country, the four seasons are relatively distinct, and the temperature changes greatly, so we should pay attention to adjust the temperature of the planting place when planting, especially in summer and winter, we should pay attention to heat dissipation and warmth.

4. Fertilizer and water

Bergamot is a shallow root plant, the absorption of water and nutrients are relatively weak, so when fertilizing and watering, we should pay attention to increase the number of fertilization and watering, each time the amount of fertilizer and water can be appropriate. When bergamot grows branches and leaves in spring, as far as possible to apply fertilizer once a week combined with watering and weeding, and in summer bergamot needs a lot of nutrients and water, because this belongs to its peak growing season, so we should increase the amount of fertilizer and watering. After the beginning of autumn, you can slowly reduce the amount of water and apply micro-fertilizers such as potash fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer. Wait until winter as long as the soil is moist and has a small amount of nutrients.

5. Pruning

What we should pay special attention to when pruning is that if the bergamot just planted blossoms, then we need to erase the flowers, otherwise it will affect the growth and development of the plant. Secondly, it is different from other plants in pruning, basically pruning is needed all the year round, because bergamot branches and leaves grow very fast, if there is no reasonable simple pruning, it is easy to accelerate the aging of the whole plant and seriously affect the yield.
