Polygala is a very expensive medicinal material at present, and wild Polygala is also listed as a protected plant by the state, which is not allowed to be exploited privately, and the artificial planting scale of Polygala is not large, and the market price has been rising all the time. Polygala has the efficacy of calming mind, expelling phlegm, detumescence and treating cough, insomnia and other symptoms, and has a wide range of uses. what we need to know today is the planting method of Polygala. Let's take a look.

1. Land selection and preparation

Yuanzhi has no requirements for planting soil, and wild Yuanzhi generally grows in cool, moist and well-lit places, so we can choose loam or sandy soil with sunny, adequate water and convenient drainage and irrigation according to its growth habits. the second is to choose plots with sufficient soil fertility as far as possible, apply sufficient base fertilizer when turning over, and carry out deep digging and suppression at the same time. In addition, the land is leveled and the soil is fine, making a flat bed of about 1.5 to two meters, and the good ditches should blend with each other, so as to facilitate watering and drainage in the later stage.

2. Scientific sowing

Polygala can basically be planted in spring and autumn in our country, usually in April or August every year. When planting Polygala, we must pay attention to not being too early or too late, and planting according to time and place. Before sowing, soak the seeds with water or special agents, fish them out for 24 hours a week, stir them evenly with fine river sand, then water the planting land thoroughly, sow seeds in trenches at a distance of 25 to 30 centimeters per behavior, spread the seeds evenly, cover the seeds with a thin soil of about one centimeter, and finally cover them with a film or straw.

3. Transplanting and planting

Yuanzhi needs to pay attention to the weather when transplanting, preferably on a rainy day or in the afternoon. When the seedlings of Yuanzhi grow to about five or six centimeters, they can be transplanted. When transplanting, you need to plant 25 to 30 centimeters per plant, about 10 centimeters per plant.

4. Field management

A week after planting, we need to check the growth of the seedlings in the field, replenish the seedlings and water them in time, and wait until the Yuanzhi seedlings grow new roots, then we can carry out intermediate ploughing, weeding and soil cultivation, and at the same time, we can combine watering and fertilization. the demand for fertilizer and water is relatively large in the growing period, we should install about 30 kilograms of urea per mu and about 100 jin of phosphate fertilizer for topdressing, and watering in time. This can dilute the concentration of fertilizer and make the plant absorb better. Secondly, when the tuber expands, it needs to spray an appropriate amount of foliar fertilizer, which can also promote the growth of tuber while preventing plant aging. Foliar fertilizer generally needs to be sprayed to three times, which can increase the yield. In the flowering period of Polygala tenuifolia, it is necessary to properly remove flowers, or spray chemicals that have been growing in flowers and beans, which can avoid the consumption of nutrients and promote root growth. The last thing to pay attention to is that there is too much water in the field, drainage should be carried out in time, so as not to cause plant rot.

5. Pest control

The main diseases of Polygala tenuifolia are root rot and leaf blight. Root rot mainly harms the root of Polygala tenuifolia, which causes serious loss to yield. Increasing phosphate fertilizer and base fertilizer can be used to enhance the resistance of plants. At the same time, carbendazim can also be used for treatment, while leaf blight is mainly harmful to the leaf surface of Polygala tenuifolia. Secondly, there are often pests such as bean genkwa, red spiders and grubs, which not only harm the branches and leaves of Polygala, but also harm its roots and affect the quality of Polygala. We can use crop pesticides, ferrous sulfate and trichlorfon to control them respectively.
