Planting techniques of autumn spinach
Spinach is a widely planted vegetable in China. It can be planted all year round. According to its different planting time, it can be divided into four types: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Autumn spinach refers to the varieties sown from August to November. Now into autumn is a good time to plant autumn spinach, let's take a look at autumn spinach planting technology.
1. Seed treatment
Generally sown in August, when the temperature is still higher, the germination of spinach seeds have a certain impact, especially in early August, when the temperature is generally above 25 degrees, so before sowing, it is necessary to soak seeds, accelerate their emergence, shorten the growth cycle, and improve yield. Germination can choose the simplest water soaking method, first clean the seeds, put them in clean water for 3-5 days, when the seeds grow buds, you can sow them, during which you should pay attention to changing the water in time if the water is turbid.
2. Timely sowing
Spinach is generally direct seeding, mainly broadcast, sowing time can be in late July or early October in batches, sowing before the first enough water, the seeds evenly broadcast on the ground, and then light comb rake topsoil, the seeds covered. In straw or shed, shading moisture, to keep the soil moist, conducive to accelerating emergence, about a week can Qi Miao. Sowing amount should be determined according to climate change. In the early stage of high temperature, drought and rainy period, it is easy to cause dead seedlings. The sowing amount is relatively large. Generally, about 6 kg per mu is needed. In the late stage, the temperature decreases, and the sowing amount can be reduced. About 3.5 kg per mu is used.
3. Field management
Autumn spinach seedlings growth period temperature and low temperature are higher, so water frequently to keep the soil moist, and play a role in reducing the ground temperature, for seedlings to provide a suitable environment for growth. Autumn spinach in the early growth period is in a dry climate period, so at this time to strengthen fertilizer management, in the growth of true leaves, can be poured a thin manure water, and then as the temperature decreases, slowly increase the concentration of fertility. However, this method is only suitable for application when the soil is dry and the climate is dry, so as to avoid excessive humidity and cause diseases. When seedlings grow 2-3 true leaves, they should be combined with thinning seedlings, loosening soil and weeding, and topdressing in time. Organic fertilizer should be applied in the early stage of topdressing, and quick-acting chemical fertilizer should be applied in the late stage to improve yield and quality.
4. Harvest
Autumn spinach has a short growth cycle and can be harvested 30-60 days after sowing. Harvest depends on growth and market demand. Generally, when the plant grows to 10cm, it can be harvested in batches. When harvesting, priority should be given to harvesting those that grow too dense or fast bolting. When harvesting, the diseased leaves and withered leaves should also be removed, tied into a handful of half jin or one jin, and then sold on the market.
