From Orchid Xiaobai to learning to prepare plant materials, it took me three years to watch carefully.
Orchid plant has always been a topic of concern to orchid friends, which planting material should be used to grow orchids? As a matter of fact, there is no unified conclusion. in the early days of raising orchids, good farmers also tried a variety of plant materials, with both successes and failures.
When I raised orchids for the first time, I didn't consider the importance of soil at all, and there was no concept of orchid plants at that time. He went to the vegetable garden and dug up some soil and planted it directly in the basin. Then it rained and the whole flowerpot was dripping with water, but after a few days without rain, the pot soil was easy to crack. Before making it through the summer, the orchid said goodbye to me.
The second time, I went to dig dirt on the mountain, and this time I had a heart. I took soil from the mountain with orchids. I felt that since I could grow orchids, the soil should be good. This kind of humus on the mountain has a very long-lasting fertilizer effect, and orchids can use less chemical fertilizer. However, the difference between the mountain and the flowerpot was ignored. as a result, the orchid did grow well in the early stage, but in the later stage, it was the same problem as the vegetable garden soil, perhaps the management was not in place.
Later, I used the rotten pine shavings on the mountain, and this thing does raise seedlings, which can be watered casually or not for a long time. Its structure is very easy to absorb enough water, and the staggered space is conducive to the leaching of excess water. The disadvantage is that the fertilizer effect is not enough and not long enough.
Later, the soil on the mountain was quietly mixed with rotten pine trees, so that not only the problem of water was solved, but also the problem of fertilizer was solved, and then the orchid plant material was really used to raise orchids. Of course, because it is difficult to find rotten pine trees, so the improvement to pine bark, the effect is also good, the overall feeling is still slightly worse than rotten pine trees, maybe it is because they contain different dilution of beneficial orchid substances.
In fact, there are many other plant materials, interested Lanyou can do more experiments by themselves, will certainly find the most suitable plant material for you.
