Pingtung Cocoa Farm Carnival in October

Pingtung has three blacks, coffee, cocoa and black beans. Pingtung's hot climate is suitable for the growth of cocoa trees, which belong to tropical fruit trees. Pingtung currently has an area of 300 hectares planted with cocoa, ranking first in the country. Under the guidance of the government, some farmers not only sell fruit pods but continue to ferment and other processes to make cocoa bricks or chocolate. Thus, cocoa farms have been formed one by one. Neipu District Farmers Association combined with 19 cocoa estates in Pingtung County to launch the "Pingtung Cocoa Estate Carnival Month" from October 1 to October 31. Tourists only need to register on the activity website for the designated ladder and report to the cocoa estate according to the registration date. Tourists can complete the free cocoa related experience activities.

Pingtung County government said that Pingdong cocoa industry has moved towards a six-level industry. Many cocoa farms have been transformed into leisure farms to provide tourists with more diversified experiences and recreational services, so that tourists can not only see cocoa trees, but also experience chocolate making and taste happiness. This cocoa farm carnival month visitors can see each different cocoa farm and experience different surprises and fun brought by each farm owner.

Chung Chih-hsi, director-general of the Neipu District Farmers Association, said that the Pingtung cocoa production area is dominated by Hakka towns.
