What is peony?

1. Root

Paeonia lactiflora is a perennial herb whose root is composed of three parts, namely, root neck, tuber and fibrous root. The root neck is the uppermost part of the heel, with buds; the tuber root grows from the lower part of the root neck, showing fleshy, relatively rough, long column or spindle-shaped, nutritious; fibrous root is mainly from the tuber root, the main function is to absorb water and nutrients.

2. Leaves

The leaves of Paeonia lactiflora are 2-3-pinnate compound leaves, the leaves are 20 to 24 cm long, the leaflets are oval, lanceolate or narrowly ovate, the front of the leaves are sharp, the edges of the leaves are densely grown with white teeth, and the leaves are yellowish green, dark green and so on.

Third, flowers

Peony flowers usually grow alone at the top of the stem or in the axils of leaves near the tip. The flowers of the original species are white, 8 to 11 cm in diameter, 5 to 13 petals, Obovate, and the tip of the petals is obtusely round.
