1. Select branches

Rose branches used for cutting, should choose more robust semi-lignified branches, do not use old branches, old branches with less auxin content, not easy to root.

It is best to choose the branches that have just finished blooming. If you have the conditions, you can cut off the remnants of the flowers first, and then cut off the branches for a week, so that the branches can accumulate more nutrients.

2. Pruning branches

The pruning of cuttings is also more fastidious, many flower friends will cut a very long branch to cut, this is wrong, the branch is too long, before the root loss is too much, it is not easy to survive.

The correct way should be to keep only 2-3 bud points for each cuttage, the lower bud point for rooting, and the invisible point of the future bamboo shoot bud, and the upper bud point will sprout into branches in the future.

When pruning, the upper cut should be cut flat, and the lower cut should be at an angle of 45 degrees, leaving only 2-4 leaflets for photosynthesis.

3. Disinfection

Sterilization and disinfection is an important link in cutting. It is suggested that after cutting, you can soak in potassium permanganate water for 20 minutes. Lilac is the best concentration of potassium permanganate water. Carbendazim solution is also possible.

4. Matching soil

Cutting soil should be loose and breathable, the most important thing is not to contain fertilizer, fat soil is easy to cause black rot of branches when the temperature is high. It would be better if the temperature was lower.

In order to ensure survival, the blue demon advised everyone to cut the soil, to use plain soil, do not contain fertilizer. You can mix peat and perlite at 1:1 and cut it.

Can also use pure perlite or pure vermiculite cutting, but these two cutting methods, in transplanting is often bare root transplanting, sometimes black rot after transplanting.

5. Cutting

When cutting, you should be careful not to destroy the incision. if there are more soil particles, you should first use a wooden stick to make a hole in the soil, then put the branches into the hole, and then pour water through it, so that the soil and branches can be closely combined.

6. Post-cutting management

After the cuttage, how to manage it? Many flower lovers don't quite understand how often they are watered. It's actually very simple.

After cutting, put the flowerpot in the shade of the tree, or where you can bask in the sun sooner or later, keep it ventilated and find that the surface of the basin soil is dry and can be watered.

Cutting rose in autumn is easy to survive, just take the soil mass to the pot directly after taking root. Add sufficient base fertilizer when potting, but be careful not to come into direct contact with the root system. By the next spring, rose seedlings will grow big and blossom.
