Durian is no stranger to us. It is a kind of fruit widely grown in Southeast Asia and has a reputation as the king of fruits. It is extremely nutritious and best-selling in the market, of course, because of its special smell, many people also hate it, but like it more. With the expansion of market demand, China also began to plant durian in the last century, so how to grow durian? Let's take a look at the planting techniques of durian.

1. Sowing seeds

It is appropriate to sow durian in spring. The seed of durian is in the pulp. Soak it in clean water. Under the right temperature, you can see its seed coat rupture in one day, and continue to soak until the white core inside it is about to come out. It is appropriate to control the row spacing of plants at 20 × 20cm when sowing, cover a layer of shallow soil after sowing, keep the soil moisture at about 30%, and sprout soon.

2. Raising seedlings

Attention should be paid to weeding and shallow ploughing during seedling growth, so as to remove weeds in orchards so as not to affect seedling growth or seize nutrients. Shallow ploughing can make seeds emerge quickly after germination, while weeding in shallow tillage can be combined with watering and fertilization to make it grow rapidly. In addition, in addition to the method of sowing and raising seedlings, excellent mother plants can be propagated by air striping, which is very easy to take root and form new seedlings, and it only takes 2-3 months from propagation to seedling.

3. Transplanting and planting

No matter which propagation method is improved, it can be planted when the seedlings grow to 40-50cm. When planting, the soil is prepared, the soil is ploughed, and organic fertilizer, soil fertilizer and lime are applied as base fertilizer. The amount of base fertilizer is determined according to planting environment and scale. Planting can be carried out all year round, and it is required to plant with soil, water once when raising seedlings, and then dig out the soil near the root system together, be careful not to harm the root system, so as not to cause planting failure, and the row spacing of 3 × 5 meters is appropriate when planting.

4. Field management

After applying sufficient base fertilizer, durian needs to be fertilized 2-3 times a year, and the types of fertilization in these three stages are also different at the bud stage, fruit expansion and fruit picking stage. Durian fertilization is mainly the application of water-soluble fertilizer, diluted water-soluble fertilizer through drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, root irrigation, which is convenient and fast, will not harm the soil and roots, and improve the utilization rate of fertilizer. In addition, durian has a strong sprouting power, and it is easy to grow under good fertilizer and water conditions, so it should be shaped and pruned in time to maintain a good tree shape, increase permeability and improve yield and quality.

5. Harvest

Durian ripening season is in November, February and June-August, these seasons are its ripening period, when the fruit is about to mature, when the fruit turns orange or orange-red, it is ripe, and then it can be harvested. It is not easy to eat immediately after harvest, but it can only be eaten after a week, when the flesh is soft.
