Litchi is a very popular fruit with high nutritional value, but it is not suitable to eat too much and catch fire. Because it is often impossible to eat enough at one time, litchi is a kind of temperature-loving plant. Litchi is basically planted in Guangzhou, Fujian and other places in China. Now the scope of use of litchi is getting wider and wider, so the planting area and yield of litchi also need to be increased. So today let's learn the field management skills of litchi.

1. Fertilization

The fertilization of litchi needs to be divided according to the growing period of litchi trees. first of all, we are divided into two large areas, namely, the young tree stage and the fruiting stage. The litchi tree in the young tree stage is mainly to promote the development of branches and leaves, so we try our best to fertilize many times in which chopped litchi tree throughout its life, with appropriate amount of fertilizer each time, and mainly nitrogen fertilizer at the same time. And appropriate use of compound fertilizer, potash fertilizer, phosphate fertilizer and a small amount of boron fertilizer and zinc fertilizer. In the fruiting period, we need to subdivide the fertilization of litchi into three small stages. the first stage is pre-flowering fertilizer, which is mainly nitrogen fertilizer with appropriate amount of potassium and phosphate fertilizer, and the second is strong fruit fertilizer, mainly potassium fertilizer, supplemented with phosphate fertilizer and nitrogen fertilizer. The third stage is post-fruit fertilizer, mainly nitrogen fertilizer, supplemented with other micro-fertilizers.

2. Weeding

Weeding is also carried out according to the growth stage of litchi trees. On average, young litchi trees need to carry out intermediate ploughing and weeding at least seven or eight times a year, which requires specific analysis according to the growth of Tina weeds. This can promote the root development of litchi trees and reduce nutrient consumption, while adult litchi trees usually only need to be weeded three to four times a year. Weeding is carried out before flowering, before and after fruit picking, as well as in autumn and winter, which can enhance soil permeability and promote root growth and nutrient absorption.

3. Watering

The root system of young litchi tree develops slowly, so it belongs to shallow root Zhu Wu, so we only need watering when there is less rainfall and timely drainage when there is more water in the field. There are several points to pay attention to in watering and drainage of adult litchi trees. For example, when litchi leaves are short of water, they should be watered, followed by watering at the flowering stage, and then watering at the initial stage of fruit development, but in the later stage, water should be reduced as much as possible, because it needs to accumulate sugar, otherwise litchi will have no sweetness. finally, when the emergency room encounters heavy rain, it should be drained in time, otherwise it will cause many common diseases of litchi.

4. Pruning

In fact, the pruning of litchi branches and leaves is also carried out in stages. For young fruit trees, we mainly prune some long and messy branches and leaves under the litchi trees to maintain the growth of litchi trees. At the initial stage, we mainly promote the growth of the main branches, and when they grow to a certain extent, we need appropriate pruning to promote the growth of lateral branches. On the other hand, the adult fruit trees need to be pruned according to the principles of keeping strong and weak, new and old, and getting sick, so that the yield of litchi can be increased to a certain extent.

5. Pollination

When planting litchi trees, we matched pollination trees according to a certain proportion, but now many orchards often use artificial pollination in order to improve the success rate of litchi pollination. For example, in the flowering period of litchi, bee colony stocking is carried out, followed by artificial pollen collection, and then artificial pollination is carried out by using sticking method, off-board method and spraying method. The success rate of pollination is improved, which means that the yield of litchi is also increased.

6. Disease prevention

There are many diseases and insect pests in litchi, such as anthracnose, downy mildew, leaf blight, fruit cracking, blight, litchi bug, inchworm, longicorn beetle, thrips, borer and scale pests, etc. as for the specific pest control, we can refer to the common pest control of litchi in the previous article.
